Re: How are the new babies and mothers doing?

I can't believe my lil bean is 2 weeks old. His initials are ND. He sleeps at 3 hr intervals and I am getting my sleep at night which is great. I am recovering well except for a lil pain in the A** ..lol. The only pain meds I needed were ibuprofen, so that's good. He feeds well except he zonkes off sometimes and doesnt want to get the other boob. We keep staring at him, he is handsome like his dad...

Re: On 10.11.11 1.01 pm

Thank you so much everyone. It was a nice delivery, it was something that I envisioned in my mind. dH and mom were with me. Yup, that epi was great. I was actually cracking couple of jokes with the nurse after I was given that. Only now I learnt that DH kinda freaked out during the epi process cos of the long needles and everything. The nurses were kinda worried that I might miss getting epi since...

On 10.11.11 1.01 pm

Is when our lil blue bundle of joy made his grand entrance. I woke with one strong contraction at 3 am and started timing it with DH ( thanks to the iPhone app). It was 7 mins apart by early morning. Mom, DH and I dropped DD to school on the way to the hospital. they admitted me and I was not sure about epi. But decided to try it. Wow that thing is great... I cannot believe I was cruising thru lab...

Re: Good Luck today JJ4R

Sorry JJBR... That's totally frustrating the you lost the day and you had all set up and ready to go. May be she dint want to have a very common birthday :) shared with 25 other ones. Sure she wants a special day for herself. Hope you go in soon and be back for your sons birthday.

Re: * Updates *

I have never had contractions come before the delivery date too. Not first time and nothing so far. Had my 38th week appt today. I am 2 cm dilated and 50% effaced and the baby is really low. My doc told me that propably I might not have a 39th week appt :) I love him, hope he is right.

Re: * Updates *

That staff doc needs a punch. Why was that one not listening to your doc. No one can have a proper 8 hrs sleep in the last trimestEr. sure she has not been preg. Have a good nights sleep and take care. Hope you feel better. Did they say why the baby's fluid is low?

Re: New Born clothes

[Y] I think you did right. I got a set to wear from the hospital that fits only till 8 lbs and I got 2 gerber newborn shirt and 2 pants which I think will only fit my DD's doll. [grouchy] duh!

Re: * Updates *

I just cant believe we are all here, just few days ot hrs away (hoping that for you JJBR). Wow! 3 cm! thats awesome. I hope I am that when I got to my appointment on thu. I have never got the membranes stripped last time. What happens there? Is that done for everyone? I have no BH.. I took off from work and did a lot of housework yesterday, did some laundry, cooking climbing up and down the stai...

Re: I have conflicting feelings about this article...

I think this article was written by someone who wanted a vague topic to do his/her research paper. There is so much already written about every da*n thing under the sun, that people keep coming up with these things. Believe me, husband being there or not, the intesity and nature of pain will not differ. My DH is such a positive influence in my life, I def want him to be there. On the other hand,...

Re: Anyone else literallty counting down the days????

Thanks for the info ladies. hmm I am still not sure if I have to delete or leave them on my registry before the shower. I have not heard of the playtex liners too. But how can you sterilise something in the dishwasher. I used to boil water in a pan and drop DD's bottles and teats in there to sterilise. I BFed her only for 6 mo.

Re: Anyone else literallty counting down the days????

Girls, I have a question. If you breastfeed for 1 year, do you need a bottle wamer, bottle sterilizer and bottle drying rack?

Re: Babygear you couldn't live without?

I got the lanolin cream. Thanks Vendela. What do you girls think about this vespa diaper tote? Love it or hate it? I am about to order it, but wondering where you would keep a sippy cup or bottle. Its got plenty of room though • 16'' W x 12'' H x 5.5'' D

Re: How did your last labour start?

That is my case with DD. My water breaking was the first thing that happened in the morning. I told my mom and parents drove me to the hospital (I was staying at my parents that week). I was 39 weeks. DH was at home. Mine was natural and No EPI and did not know the gender. Mom gave me breakfast before leaving and I was in the hospital by 9 AM. Mild cont...

Re: Anyone else literallty counting down the days????

Thanks for explaing that Vendala. That makes sense in my case. I am just glad I did not become a high risk and needn't have to go with the injections to my tummy everyday, shifting to heparin on the 36th week and all that drama. I am ok not taking epi if I can keep the blood clot free :) Happy weekend

Re: Anyone else literallty counting down the days????

Vendela, Why did the doctor asked you to stop aspirin at 36 weeks? Mine is asking me to continue taking. I asked him if I shoould stop. I was detected with thick blood last year though and when they checked agaan this year it was fine. So I am on 81 mg instead of any blood thinning injections. But I am constantly wondering if I have any clots.

Re: Birthplan
Aqua - I think you said you are going for the epidural this time?  I hope it works beautifully for you! I am so excited for my appt. on Thursday - I have no idea why, but I'm hoping my OB will just take one look at me and say "oh yeah, your baby will definitely be early"  As if that would somehow make it true!
I am going to give it a shot but also hope ...
