SU/MSU Experiments Buddy Group-June 09

Hi there Brygger......Did you have them in too long?   That happened to me once and I don't know why!!  I thought maybe it was the 10 day abstinance because the next month we did more attempts and I had no problem with sperm.  No problem with previous experiments in previous months.  Only when abstained.  Did your dh abstain?  Maybe something happened with their tails when transfering into incubator after collecting the samples!!!  Good luck!!

Anna - it sounds like you are doing the right thing. I always get baby blues a few day after giving birth so you should take the time to focus on yourself for a while. The BFPs and then AF can't be easy as well as this stressful swaying if you feel generally down as well. Keep in touch as I think we have all been where you are at some point to different degrees xxx

Okay, okay ladies...I know what I am going to do!!!  After going through every attempt posted for months and really weighing things out, I have decided that I have tried 0+12 for three months and now I am going to move onto more attempts.   So, this next month....after af shows (probably tomorrow 14dpo) I am going to BD right after af ends everyday protected up until 3 day cut-off and then make an SU/TBM attempt, then 2-day cut-off with SU/TBM.  Then make sure ph remains low through O and then wait for O+12 and make one final attempt during that time.  I am going to still do TBM...I might raise ph a little, but I have to experiment with that first.  I am going to bring those spermies down to 4ish and then try and wait them up with baking soda.  Has anyone tried this?   Can you give me some pointers as to how much BS I use?  I know it is a small amount.  But, after trying this next month and then Aug., if still BFN....well, I think I will drop the TBM...but keep SU and douching!!!  Any thoughts ladies?

I have done this. You have to add a lot of BS as it is hard to bring the ph back up above 5. Then the sample gets very cloudy. Keep on adding a bit at a time and taking a small amount to check under the scope about every 0.5 raise in ph. Some of mine did wake up but I think it was too much of a shock for most of themHTH XX GL!!!

I hear ya Babybo on all the variables.  I honestly dont think the timing makes it or breaks the attempt when watching ph and cm.  With all my boys...well, my last one I got a -opk and dtd and the next evening +opk...so 2 day cut off????  The others around O, but my friends swear by dtd for a girl days before O.  They all have girls and did just that!!!  So, its confusing...I know!!!  I go back and fourth...not to mention I just found out another friend is preggo!!!  Two friends in two weeks...both first babies for them, but I just know they are gonna have girls!!!  And then here's me with four...wanting a GIRL...can't enjoy dtd to have a baby because it's all about the LAB experiments!!!!  Why can't my system just favor ONE little girl!!!  So, anyways, I am just going to do a cut-off for July both a two-day and 0+12 and I think I might do frequent BDing because we did that this month towards O and dh's swimmers looked better under the scope.  When we abstained...dh's sample was barely moving around, so that makes my decision easy!!!

I am just going to pray (like I have been) and also experiment with lime and ph and see if 4-4.5 is too low for dh's sperm to handle.  Maybe 4.8 or 5 would be better.  Anyone want to chime in on that one?  I really feel like the lime and my ph being low is killing the sperm!!!

Hi girls - well I have finally found some thing that makes my EW float! Using a old pair of tights as netting and wrapping them a piece of plastic and putting that into the test tube. I am very excited that this might actually work now! Only problem is that DH sample was 100% dead to start with - we think its because its been a good few weeks since we dtd so I don't know if they SU through the netting. Tried the SMP but even that sank (but it was a good year out of date!!!) oh well - unwards and upwards.

Hi there lovemysond....I usually put my ew in a glass and then put my glass in a bowl of warm water for about 10 mins.  I don't incubate them...I do the same for the splime when I heat it up too!!  I don't like using the incubator for that...it heat them too much in my opinion!!  Good luck with your attempt!!!

I always used incubator to heat up EW b/c the water would cool down too quickly. I would keep EW in incubator for about 1/2 hr to 1 hr before experiment.

luvr4boyz. I don't know about doing it everyday before 3 day cutt off. That could cause BD burn out for both of you. Can't DH just release on his own? I also think adding lime and then BS is a little too much for the sperm to handle.

Thanks Guard...well, today is my last day of AF...she is almost gone, so I think we will BD every other night.  Next week will be my attempt, so I don't think we will burn out!!!  I have to let dh have some fun in this....he was starting to have performance issues because he was feeling like it was a bit mechanical because he has to release in a cup!!!   I asked him about releasing in a condom but he did not like that idea.  He is a bit picky!!!    I wanted to use a condom...one with spermicide because doesn't that sway for a girl anyways?  So, this whole week and next I am being very strict on the diet...I have been somewhat strict for months, but cheated here and there.  Not these last weeks...I am really thinking about my little girl I want!!  I have been feeling a bit of a cold coming on, which sucks but maybe it is a good thing.  So, my attempt will be next Wed. or Thur. I am very excited to start again and hope this is it for me!!  Or I should say PRAY this is it for me!!!

Well ladies, I have somewhere between 8 and 11 days before our next attempt.  DH & I have been enjoying focusing on each other.  I wish we could do that more but we need him to have a long abstinance.  So after tomorrow, there will be no more fun time until I get to my fertile week.  One of the things that I have learned about my body is that I usually O right about 7 days after my 1st day of sticky cm...so I'm hoping that the sticky will arrive soon. 

 How is everyone else doing?  I'm sorry for those of you who have time constraints on ttc...that can be even more stressing with the SU experiments.  I am that we all get our BFP's of our chosen gender soon!  Good luck to everyone! 

Good luck PD! May the EW be with you! I'm just finishing my love fest and starting the TWW. I did find some spermies alive in the scope if I took them directly from the cervix, but all were dead in the cup after about 8 hrs after the attempt.

I did end up doing BSF and preseed in the cup, and taking alfalpha, so a little bit of a sway, but not much. The PH in the cup was between 6 and 7 the whole time.

PD...my attempt will be in 11 days...so we are in it somewhat together!!  This is it...this is OUR MONTH!!  ALL OF US!!  Everyday, wake up and say this is the month that I get preggo with a girl and all my IG friends too!!!!  I am!

Just want to say that I wish everyone their dream baby---I know I don't post much, but I have read along when I can find the time and find this board INVALUABLE. I used to post a lot last summer but on a different forum when I tried IVF TTC a girl. It didn't work for me---couldn't produce enough eggs---but having a safe place to post was enormously helpful to me. It took me until this summer to get up the courage to try again but with swaying and that is also in large part to this board and all the information and inspiration you girls offer. I've come to be very thankful that the IVF didn't work for me as I was so conflicted about it on some level and now believe that this was the path that I was meant to be on all along. I pray God listens to the desires of our hearts and blesses us all.

Welcome keepingthefaith...I am sorry IVF didn't work for you!!  This board has some wonderful ladies on it and whatever you need we are here to help and listen!!  Good luck to you and I too hope that god blesses us all!!!
