I feel so so so so so so so STUPID....and I think DH does too!!  We have never ever ever ever owned a credit card because I think they are part of the reason the economy is so bad right now....and they are a rip off...Well, we needed the money really bad for bills when tax time came around and we got the h&r block emrald advance card.  Of coarse we didn't read all that paperwork and nothing was explained to us about it.  We THOUGHT this was something like a greendot card that doesn't have interest fees....like a pre-paid card.  We thought that if we filed our taxes with the actual w-2 before feb. 15th that there would be no charges incurred with the card.....BOY was that WRONG!!  We are now getting a statement that said we owe $45.99 for last month and $46.48 for this month and that we are past due for last month.....I was reading the fine print on the damn statement and it says the interest rate is 36.00%!AngryANGER doesn't even begin to express how I feel right now.  I really feel stupid too.....I am ignorant to credit cards because I have NEVER had one and didn't think that's what this was.....now I have to pay interest fees in the amount of almost $100.00 that was for 2 months......2 FREAKING MONTHS!!!!Mad Furious  I am so beyond retarded!!!!!!!!  OMG.  I will NEVER use H&R Block again.  Oh, and on the bottom of the statement it says "call our automated customer service line toll free" but when I call to actually speak to someone they said it'll be a $2.00 charge for that.GRRRR.

When my husband and I first got married we used them and did rapid refund so they could take a big chunk of our money. I go online now to irs site and there are free sights to file your federal taxes. It costs a fee for state taxes but TN doesn't have state tax. You must be under 53 years of age and make under $50,000 ( I believe maybe a little higher). You e-file your tax return then in 2 weeks or less your money will be in your checking account. I did mine as soon as we got our w-2 in. I hope this helps for next year! Good luck!

PS we all have to learn the hard way!! I know we have learned alot!
