Ok ladies I included my spreadsheet info so that I didn't miss anything! I feel just terrible that I didn't do any diet or supps really, but my ph has been hanging around 4.5 for a while now, and I've never been very good with pills. Just FYI both DH and I are diet soda drinkers. I share that cuz I think I read some where that artifical sweeteners favor girls, though thats not why I drink diet! LOL We used egg whites like egg beaters cuz I didn't know how else to get pasturized eggs. Silly me if they come that way already! The ph was fine but the consistency had us worried for a minute, but it floated and sorted just fine. IDK what IC is... so odds are I didn't use it or them or whatever...Hehe!
DH had a huge sample, I wonder if it's cuz he held it in for a week! He stopped filling the test tube at 6ml to leave room the the EW we put 6ml of eggwhite on top of the sample (I hope that was right I think I read it's supposed to be equal parts) it didn't sink so we were cool, no SW needed. Tucked it in a washcloth at a 45 deg. angle and left it for an hour in the incubator. Actually DH never left it! LOL He was so into this he ate his dinner at the incubator watching the temp and moving the lid open and shut to keep the temp ideal. He did everything! I think my only job was testing PH and adding lime juice to the sample... But that's ok I've got a big job now! Anyway, when we took out our sperm we thought it had mixed. But when we held it to the light we saw a band of EW in the middle that was relatively clear. So DH sucked out the top portion and returned the test tube to the incubator while we examined it. It was crowded! LOL I was thinking... no wonder I have all these sons, if these are the boys! They were very fast, I couldn't pick one out and follow it, they were nuts! DH said it looked like TV static, just like a man! I didn't notice any swim pattern, I was going cross-eyed trying to focus on and observe one. My microscope ranges from 100x-1200x so I think we were close enough. They are just fast and it was crowded.
So DH got the test tube back out and sucked up the EW and the top layer of the bottom sample and discarded that. Just to be safe we used a different syringe every time we dipped into the test tube. I saw those boys! I wasn't taking any chances! Finally we had our sample of alledged girls. We peek at them also and found that they were a bit slower and less crowded. I think the lower concentration is just because more than half the sperm had swam up. I thought the spem in this portion were larger but DH disagreed! LOL We did agree it was much easier to pick one out and follow it and observe. They were just swimming around (almost casually compared to the first group) aimlessly waiting... it was fascinating!
We carefully squirted our "girls" into a small bowl (for swishing) and started adding lime... it took around 25 drops of straight lime to get the ph down to 4.5 then we sucked it back up and got ready to DTD. I would like to recommend the use of absorbent pads, such as they use in the hospital. Yu can buy them at wal-mart in the depends section, but they just cover your bed to catch any fluids or mess that may result from TBM and douching afterward. I'm also leaving a link to my TTC pictures on photobucket. I hate to cut it short, but I'm got to feed the baby that's already here!
