I am now a total believer is Shettles timing and environment. I am naturally acidic due to my love of dairy and both of my daughters were conceived using a rythm method of birth control (long cutoffs that got just a little too close to O). After reading up on In-Gender it was so obvious they would be girls! For our last we wanted a little boy so studied I-G and went to work.
I cut out most all dairy for about 3 months, put salt on everything and also ate lots of potatoes, tomatoes and watermelon. I also drank lots of water. My other diet trick was to eat at McDonalds as much as I could stand it - about 3 times a week. Salty fries, greasy burgers, good boy making stuff! I also took prenatals to try to offset the McDonalds. I gained about 8 lbs on this "diet" -EEK-, but I know I can lose it after baby comes.
For the big day I used the Ovulation strips to determine O and am pretty sure we did the deed about 4 hours before O. That was the only time unprotected time all month. DH abstained 2 days prior to attempt. DH drank a cup of coffee 30 mins before and I used a tube of preseed. Went as deep as possible, I had a big O after DH. Got pregnant the 1st try.
Just confirmed last week we have a BOY due July 8th! The girls are so excited to have a baby brother!
Good luck to everyone!!!!
