Hi I'm already pregnant with my fifth child. We have 4 boys and I was trying for a girl using Jonas method and it worked for me.I was wondering just for research sake... I wasn't sure if time of sexual intercourse would be important too or just ovulation time because I actually had some luck on my side.

let me explain myself: I live in Los Angeles, CA and was born here on 11/04/1969

I wanted to infulence the sex using Jonas method but also timing intercourse a few days before ovulation to help those girl sperm get to my egg since they are slower but live longer than boys. Also, I conceived all my sons without planning but either the day of ovulation or just hours before onset. (I feel pain on one side every ovulation)

so I had sex a little before 6 a.m. on April  22 while Moon was still in Pisces(female) knowing I would ovulate a couple days later between 24th and 25th when Moon entered Taurus (female) in between these two dates Moon was in Aries (male) I didn't think this would matter since Moon was in female both at time of intercourse and ovulation.

My question is I'm not sure if it would have made a differnence if Moon was male at time of intercourse or not and if my calculations were correct for Moon phase and my birth Moon

also another factor was the Moon phase when I had sex was Morning Cresent Moon which was the same as when I was born I think but moved into New MOOn at ovulation

I don't think it can possibly be an exact science maybe at most a few times per year a woman would ovulate at the precise time during month as her birth Moon- if that right?

Sorry if this is complicated I'm interested in this as I'm getting many questions from other mothers hoping to influence the sex of thier baby.

thanks and any input would be helpful

Ok, I get what you're saying.

All that matters when trying for a girl is that you concieve during a female moon. Timing of intercourse and ovulation are simply used to help plan a conception that happens during the girl moon. (or during a male moon for a boy)

Concerning the Jonas method, when you were born, the Moon was a certain distance from the Sun. Say they were 22 degrees apart.

That same distance between the Sun and Moon occur every 28 days. Again, the sun and moon will be 22 degrees apart once every 28 days. Dr Jonas belived that reoccuring planetary distance from your time of birth (22 degrees) would indicate your ovulation each month.

Just to be clear, the Jonas method and Moon Gender method are different theories.

My personal lunar phase is just minutes after the Last Quarter moon. When I make sure to get plenty of sunlight during the day and don't keep the lights on after dark and I sleep in total darkness except for the light from the moon... my cycles quickly line up so that my ovulation corresponds very very closely with the last quarter moon.

Just like the phases of the moon, our personal phases occur regularly. The more closely your body is in tune with the natural moon cycle the more likely you are to ovulate at the reoccurence of your birth phase.

However Dr Jonas believed that even if our cycles don't line up iwth our Sun/moon phase angle, we ovulate during that phase anyway, in addition to our hormonal cycle (approx 2 weeks after menses)

I hope that makes sense. And I'm glad to hear that you had good luck using the moon and Jonas methods!  Thanks for telling your story Aviva.

 hi ScootieLou/Jamie

I am glad you are back online.  Not sure if you are still available to help.  I am just getting serious at trying to conceive my dear girl after 2 lovely sons.  I got everything ready except not sure if I can get the o+12 nailed down.  I agree with you  that Jonas method makes O+12 easier.  Tried a few links that are no longer work, I need help on getting those dates for using Jonas method.  Please share if you have other sites that can get the dates for me if you are not available!!

Btw, my corrected info is:

 birthday: 10/21/1973

approximate time of birth: 11am

city of birth: China, Anhui province, Cihu town

city where I live now: San Jose, CA, USA

Dates to calculate 2009, 2010, 2011

Sorry about the hiatus, I'd be a full time baby astrologer if it paid the bills :(   But I like keepin' it free.

Ok happyprincess (and everyone) I am in between software at the moment so I won't be able to do anymore Jonas charts for now.  [:'(]

But what I reccommend doing is using the moon's gender to your sway attempt. The theory is that babies conceived during a female moon will be girl and during a male moon, a boy. Here come the instructions:

Use this calendar:  http://lunarium.co.uk/calendar.php

Just set the Month, Year and choose a city in your timezone, then click Create Calendar.

The moon takes 2.5 days to transit through each sign and they alternate Male/Female.  The moon's sign is listed in green print and the time in 24-hour format.

Example: Set the calendar for August 2009 in London and you will see that on Aug 2 the moon enters Capricorn (Female) at 9:09am and remains in Capricorn until it moves into the next sign (Aquarius, Male) at 22:09 on Aug 4th.

Use that info to conceive under the moon of your desired gender. It's that easy. Just remember to allow a generous window of time after intercourse to allow for conception to happen during the desired moon gender. (Though ovulation and the moon's gender don't always cooperate and coorespond the way we want, just do your best, I wouldn't necessarily forsake O+12)

Signs and Gender:

Ari - Aries - Male (strongest male moon)

Tau - Taurus- Female

Gem - Gemini - Male

Can - Cancer - Female (strongest Female moon)

Leo - Male

Vir - Virgo - Female

Lib - Libra - Male

Sco - Scorpio - Female

Sag - Sagittarius - Male

Cap - Capricorn - Female

Aqu - Aquarius - Male

Pis - Pisces - Female

Note: This theory has nothing to do with the moon's phase (ie New or Full) This is solely based on the gender of the moon's sign at the moment the sperm penetrates the egg.  Also this the same exact method Luc de Jaeger at Cosmitec uses to predict baby gender.

Until I get my new Jonas software, here's an easy-ish way to calculate your own Jonas Ovulation dates.

I'll use Angelina Jolie as an example.

====================================================================

Angelina Jolie  - June, 4, 1975 - 9:09AM - Los Angeles, California

Open one of these 3 links, whichever you find easiest;

http://www.timeanddate.com/calendar/moonphases.html   <--- I like this one best, it's used in my example.

(http://www.timeanddate.com/calendar/generate.html  or   http://aa.usno.navy.mil/data/docs/MoonPhase.php)  <---These will do in a pinch

We enter Angie's year of birth, 1975, in Los Angeles, CA, and click Show Moon Phases.

Now we have our 1975 calendar.

We look on the calendar for the date closest to her birthday, June 4, which is 'June 1, 4:22 PM' under the column Third Quarter (aka Last Quarter

From 'Jun 1, 4:22 PM' the Last Quarter to 'June 4, 9:09 AM' her birthdate is 2 days - 16 hours - 47 minutes.

Thus  2 days - 16 hours - 47 minutes after every Last Quarter moon is Angie's personal Sun/Moon phase Angle. This is the exact time Dr. Jonas predicted a woman would ovulate.

(Note this is an ovulation period completely separate from the regular menstrual cycle. Even if Angie is on her period, Dr Jonas believed that she would ovulate at this date/time)

So, let's calculate her Sun/Moon Jonas date for August 2009 in Los Angeles, CA. (Note: If Angie was living in Paris France in August, we would calculate for Paris France) But for our purposes, I will use Los Angeles.

So let's go back to the moon phase calendar site and calculate for 2009 in Los Angeles, CA.

Now we have our year 2009 chart.

The third Quarter (aka Last Quarter) in August is listed as 'Aug 13, 11:55 AM'

Now remember that Angie's personal Jonas date is  2 days - 16 hours - 47 minutes after each Last Quarter moon.

So I add 2 days, 16 hours, and 47 minutes to Aug 13, 11:55AM and I get Aug 16, 4:42am.

This is when Dr. Jonas predicts Angie will ovulate in August 2009.

========================================================

And there you have it. The manual way to calculate your personal Sun/Moon-Jonas-ovulation date each month!

Is that not the biggest buttpain you've ever seen? haha!  But it can be done.

I really, really, really, don't want to do that for everyone because it hurts my brain. But I will answer any questions you have about the method or calculations, etc.

Thanks a million!!!  This email is worth a fortune if you start a business on it!  Happy Sunshine

I followed your insructions and got jona's date as well as the calender to get the moon signs during that jona's date.  My question is that none of those dates for the next half year aligns with my predicted O date(I am pretty regular and those dates all fall in my post-O days supposedly).  I know you mentioned that you may O during the period even, but can you be O twice a month almost?  Just to clarify if I get it right.  Of course, more chances the better.   Pray

You're very welcome. I guess some astrologers charge for this info but since Maureen went to the trouble of making this site, I should follow suite.  If it's valuable and beneficial, make it availble to everyone, ya know?

To answer your question, yes. Dr Jonas believed that your normal cycle Ov and the Jonas date Ov wouldn't necessarily coincide ovulation twice a month is possible.

I was born 50 minutes after the Last Quarter moon. So 50 minutes after every LQ Moon, Jonas predicted I will ovulate. I've been charting my cycle for years and this much is true for me.. the more regular my sleep schedule and the less stressed I am, the more closely my natural cycle lines up so that my Ov date is very close to the last quarter moon.   Even when I don't care, three things are always on my calendar: 1st day of my period, last day, and my Ov date. There for years I could tell very closely when I ovulated because I had female issues and it hurt like heck. Now after surgery, I can tell more from being familiar with my body. (I'm lucky as my body is very obvious with everything it does)

An ex coworker of mine has mild PCOS and tried to get pregnant for years. I did a Jonas chart for her and she was pregnant in 4 months. For her, the Jonas method was more accurate than trying to chart her normal cycle, which was irregular at best.

Do these personal stories help or is this TMI?

Anyway, the point is the Jonas method works better for some than others. But like you said, hey why not make an attempt based on your Jonas date and your normal Ov date. The more the better, it can't hurt!

But, if you take to heart only one of these theories, I would pick the moon's gender. I've personally witnessed more sucess with that one.

Btw- Don't forget to calculate the moon's gender for your non-Jonas cycle!  Happy

Hi, I'm a newbie here and was wondering if someone could help, I am about 14 weeks along now and was trying to get pregnant with a boy via the jonas method dates. My date for a boy in may was may 15th/16th (got that free calendar off cosmitec site) and was pretty sure I ovulated around the 13th-14th which I see now as the moon was in capricorn (a female moon). I'm wanting to know what my chances were for a boy if any. Looking back to the conception of my daughter back in feb7th-8th 2006 it was moon in gemini which was meant to be boy but was in a new moon phase.......hoping that concieiving in the full moon phase has done the trick this time? I was born 3rd Jan 1975 in Sydney Australia at 10.25pm and also concieved in Sydney Australia. Thanks in Advance x

Kai,

It's easiest to use the one that's closest to your birthday.

You were born 4 hours & 15 minutes before the Full Moon.

Lucky you, yours is easy to calculate!  Geeked
