Allison's Birth Story
I arrived at the hospital for my induction at 10am on January 17, 2009...The OB came in and broke my water at 10:30 AM, and then I got up and walked...walked...walked...and nothing!!! At 12:47 PM they started me on oxytocin...at 1:48 PM my contractions got to where I asked for some gas for pain relief...at that time I was examined and was 6cm (I was still 4 before they started the oxytocin)..I was quite disappointed with 6cm...then I moved slightly...and I felt her move down...literally...likw hen you step on a snowbank then all of a sudden your foot falls thru...just like that...whoomp...down she went...and I was ready to push...I pushed two small pushes...not very hard even, and all of a sudden, at 2:01 PM, there she was on my chest...Daddy checked right away to make sure there were no boy parts!!! She weighed 8 pounds 9.5 ounces and was 22 inches long...the boys are all so excited to have her here!!! We come home form the hospital at 10 this morning (Monday)..and are settling in nicely!!!
