A very personal question about the TBM.

I really hate to ask this but it's really bugging me.

We have just recently started using the TBM and so far my dh has refused to actually be the one insterting the sample. I guess I just assumed that when we talked everything over that he was going to be the one injecting the sample but so far he has refused everytime. It's making me sad and I was wondering if my dh is the only one not doing the actual inserting/injecting of sperm/lime.

My husband is not inserting the splime.  Not because he doesn't want to, I haven't asked him to and he hasn't asked to do it.  I just do it.  We do, however, DTD with a condom to collect the sample, so he already "did his part".  Is that bad that I feel that way?  I actually didn't think of him inserting it.  I just planned on doing it and he didn't say otherwise.  GL

My dh gives me a sample for modified swim up and then heads off to work.  So an hour later when I insert he is 60 miles away lol.  He has no desire to be the one putting it in there and I don't want him to either

well my dh has asked to do it LOL but it may seem to "clinical" for some dh's kwim. Also, he might be worried that he won't do it right and doesn't want that responsibility.

My dh didn't insert either.  He wanted NO part of it.  Since he agreed to do the TBM, I figured it was an easy trade off!

I am inserting the TBM.  I did not ask dh to it.  He probably would if I asked.  However, I wanted to be the one in control of syringe (how deep to put in, injection, and position afterwards).

my DH never asked and i never offered. something about him seeing me like that is a little OOoogie if you kwim??? i dont think he would want that image in his head of his wife flat on her back with a syringe hanging out of her "finechina" while he presses the plunger. plus he give his sample and then it is his time to rest LOL!!!

I do the TBM myself as well.  After we get the sample from dh, his part is done! LOL  I agree with some of the other posts, TBM is something I would rather just do myself and not have dh have flashbacks to that moment we "conceived" our child!   

Lol OAB..I am with you..I do not want my DH to be anywhere near my Veejay while inserting lol.

I guess if you both feel comfortable with both being a participant then go for it. I get my DH to dtd into a cup & I insert.I do kiss him goodnight lol!

 

Thanks for the replies! I guess I don't feel so all alone now. I won't ask him again. lol Poor guy, I probably scared him! I just figured it would make him more involved in less clinical. Guess not! lol

I guess it is very clinical when you think about it..& sometimes my DH & I think how nice it would be to conceive the good old fashioned way..but just think if we do get our girls, how happy we will be that tried. If we need to be intimate we just use a condom. GL xo
