Total cost using MS with a collaborator

I looked up the costs of MS which doesn't seem to bad, but my question is how much is it using a collaborator. I know MS list it as about 3500 but how much more will the RE add to this? I'm very worried. ---Carrie.

I'll probably just do MS since for me IVF/PGD turned out to be a nightmare of costs. My RE wanted 21,000, even though he quoted me 15,000 the first day I walked in there. He got his money he wanted through the tests he had me go through then dropped me the 21,000 quote.

I'm just wondering what MS alone would be through a collaborator. I called one by me today,but the lady I needed to speak with wasn't in. I'm crossing my fingers and really hoping on this. I'll take the 12% risk. I just want to try.

 I don't know how far it would be for you, CNY in Albany is about the least expensive place I have been able to find. My first cycle was about $8000 total. I did participate in a study to get a $1500 discount and some free meds, but even at $10000, it's a whole lot less than what you have been quoted.  You can't do MS with a collaborator without IVF. The only place in the world currently doing MS/IUI is HRC in Laguna Hills, CA. This is because you can't use frozen Microsorted sperm for IUI, and the sorted sperm has to be frozen to send it to a collaborator. When MS gets FDA approval, MS/IUI should become available in more places. They are hoping for approval in the first half of 2009. Nobody knows how soon availability will be more widespread or what it will cost then.

As pp said there is no just MS.  With a collaborator, it's IVF or nothing.  You don't have to pay for PGD though.  Mine is 8550+monitoring(around 1200) + PGD 1750 + meds.  I think you are likely in the 12-15K range without MS.  MS is $3800 btw with all costs for a collaborator(freezing and shipping fees) plus $300 for the consult.
