Anyone else get these tiny black floater type things in their vision?  I have never got them before and have been noticing them periodically throughout the day for about the past week.  What could be the reason for it?

Totally call your doc.  Sign of pre-eclampsia.  I know because I did tons of research when I was having the vision issues a few weeks ago.  Let us know what they say.

Floaters are a very bad sign Sarah!!!!! Get off your compueter now please and call your doc or L&D!! (Sorry I don't mean to sound so like your Mother, please pretty please call someone)

High blood pressure and eclampsia causes floaters. All bad for baby.

I am sooo confussed!!! So a couple weeks back I posted about my high blood pressure reading during my OB visit, but NO protein in my urine....a few days later I went back to see the OB and got re-checked...NO high BP that time, but there WAS protien in my urine.  So they did blood work on me to see if anything was going on and it came back fine....

But now I've been having floaters; I just don't get it!!!  I shall call tommorrow I suppose.

That is the problem with preeclampsia, it gives conflicting signals sometimes. Women will have 1 symptom but not the other ones, etc. Blood work and a 24 hour urine collection will show what's going on but you need to tell your physician about the floaters so they can order it. Thinking of you, Sarah!!!!!!!!!!!!!Hearts

    Sarah,

I get them!  Even when not pregnant, they are specs in your inner eye and takes a few weeks or more for them to go away.  In my case, they never go away, but they get worse with pregnancy.  My OPT told me that they are common in near sited and older people.  But tell your doctor anyway.

    Re: Floaters in vision?

Sarah, please call your doc asap and let them know what's going on.  The fact that you are seeing floaters could be a result from elevated blood pressures.  I'm not a doctor, but I did have severe preeclampsia with ds#1.  I know first hand that it can progress very quickly. I noticed your blood pressures from your previous post was really high. I wouldn't worry about being a hypochondriac.  I don't think anyone could blame you for just wanting to be sure your precious baby was okay. Please understand that I'm not trying to scare you.  But I think with everything you've mentioned previously that you should just go in and get checked out.  Keep us posted on what you decide to do.

Did you call the Doc.? It could be high BP or high glucose in your system. Get it checked out for sure!

I did call and they had me come into the office to get my BP checked...I AM officially a hypochondriac.  My BP was 130/69 (which the girl said was great) and she said there was NO protein in my urine.  Good news for me, but I feel so stupid...

Then the girl went and talked to one of the NPs before letting me go and came back and told me that the NP was not at all concerned that I have pre-e...and continued to say that since I haven't had it with any previous pregnancy I wont get it now.  Not sure how true of a statement that is, but I don't trust ANY of their words unless it comes straight from the mouth of MY ob.

Sarah - I was following this post and hoping that everything was okay!!!!  I am so glad to hear your good news!!!  I don't have a clue about pre-e but if it was me I would just be on the lookout for stuff.  It doesn't sound like you want to mess around with that stuff.  I am just so glad you are okay!!!

Yeah, honestly, this was my whole thing, I just didn't want to take chances with my baby.  How sad it would be to carry her this far and then have to bury her.  If it was just me I was concerned about, I can almost guarentee I would not have called the doctor, but I just cant take that chance with my child!
