    nursing cover

I made my own nursing cover!!!!  I didn't even know they existed until last fall when a football mom on my son's team was using one.  I thought it was genius---but did not want to pay $30+ on one, even though I would get my money's worth.  So, I do not sew.  I own this tiny little machine but it's crap and I don't know how to use it anyway.  A while ago, I bought stitch witch to make new placemats.  I got fabric for $1/yd at Walmart.  I got the D rings for .78.  I was so excited.  Now I'm working on hair bows!

Now I'm working on hair bows!

I just started making hairbows last night and I made the cutest headband with a big flower on it for dd's first year pictures.  The hairbows are addicting -- I was already at the craft store today buying more ribbon and looking for embellishments!  Your dd will look so cute in them!Cutie

    Hey mtgirl,

I was going to send you a message.  I was going to ask your opinion on decorating DDs room.  I'm not going to paint, although I want to, but there is a full size bed in the room, crib, changer and toy bin shelf thingy, so I'm just not up for moving all of that out.  But, you have such cute decorating ideas, I know you can give me ideas!  I have one of those mosquito net canopy things I'm going to hang over her bed.  It's white, but when I was buying the ribbon and fabric at WM, they had this spool of ribbon that was big pink mesh/metal butterflies (hard to explain, but they're cute). I was thinking of attaching some of those to the netting.  My ? is what can I do really cute (I'm not wanting the whole room to be butterflies, by the way, just thought they were a good idea) on the walls that doesn't involve too much or painting?  I thought wall border, but what else?  I'm not sure what theme I want. Ok, 3 1/2 yrs ago, the room started out as a guest room with beach pictures on the walls.  Then, DS3 came along. I left the beach pics, just bought another cute boyish surfboard pic.  I really want to do something girlie.  Whatcha think?  Can you just fly out here and help me?!!!

Hairbows are addicting, aren't they?  I'm ready to go to Michael's and check out their ribbon.  They had some cute spools for $1. when I was there last weekend, but I didn't have the clips yet and didn't know what size I needed.  What'd you use for the headbands?  I wanted to make one of those too with a huge pink flower.

    Re: nursing cover

Oh gosh, I suck at decorating!  I wish I could be of more help -- all I can think of for the butterflies is maybe some wall stickies or find something you can frame?  My dd's theme was centered around her crib bedding (pink/red flowers) and I found some Anne Geddes photos (flowers & newborns) in a calendar book that was oudated. I cut out the pictures and framed them in 3 white frames (from the dollar store).  It looks cute all lined up together.  I like the canopy idea -- just saw one in the nursery gallery.  It looks very feminine.

LOL - that's exactly what I bought today!  A great deal!  I bought the headbands off ebay.  Here's a link: crochet headbands.  The nylon headbands look cute, too.  I will try to post a photo of dd in her cute flower headband soon!

See, cute!  I wouldn't have thought of that!  Yep, make sure you post a pic, can't wait to see!

Ooooh yah - I just remembered that she did newborns in butterfly outfits...if you like her style it might be something to think about for your nursery!
