I have my 17 week u/s tomorrow and I'm so scared of what they will tell me. I swayed for a girl but up to last week I felt like I wouldn't mind too much if it was another boy but now, all of a sudden, it's important that it's a girl again which is how I felt before I fell pregnant. I still can't decide even if I want to find out or not. What if it's a boy and I'm miserable for the next 23 weeks? I don't think I will be which is why I booked the scan in the first place but there is a chance it could happen. I'm sorry but it just feels good to type and send this out - I'm worried and confused and I know I'm going to feel so sick with nerves tomorrow morning I feel like pulling out. Argh.

Good luck tommorow. I can only imagine the stress you are under right now. If it were me, I would try to convince myself it is a boy today and imagine all that will come with it so that tommorow you are prepared. I know that this doesnt help but two boys together- brothers- are awesome to watch--their bond is just incredible. And maybe, if it is a boy you could try for #3. Sorry I am not much help but I will say a prayer for you and be thinking of you. Please post an update tommorow. GL!!!

I remember this feeling so well....and I wanted a boy first then a girl, but always knew I had to have a girl....I even told my DH that I wanted a boy first then a girl....2 boys was fine too, but then we would be adopting a girl!  The only sway we did for DD1 was shettles timing and it worked.....but i do remember the week leading up to that US.  I was so worried that I'd burst into tears and freak out if they said boy....

You get to post and vent here....I told no one, just smiled alot and said you get what you get!!!  Whatever little bean you're growing in there is going to bless your life.  Your son may get a brother~ we have a friend whose brother flew in and made it into the delivery room of his brothers first born! That's a patient sister in law!  They were crying and blubbering all over each other....two big macho guys.....they are the ones that make me wonder if I'll have to try for a DS next spring even though I keep telling myself I'm done.....

Or your DS may get a sister and get to teach her about dinos and dump trucks and she'll teach him to have a tea party and paint toes!  Either way a new baby and sibling is a great adventure....and it's okay to be a little disappointed/sad...and we're here for you to vent!

If you don't, just know though that it will be ok.  I found out I'm having boy #3 last week.  The first day was hard but each day it's getting easier.  There is something really sweet and special about "brotherly love."  

 Best of luck tomorrow! I know for *me* knowing was the way to go otherwise I'd have driven myself mad for the rest of my pregnancy going back and forth! (hugs)

Don't back out!  You are doing the right thing by finding out.  We didn't find out with DS#4 because I was SURE it was a girl.  When they said "It's a boy!" in the delivery room, DH & I were both in shock.  It was somewhat bittersweet.  I believe that's when GD hit me hard - I just KNEW he was our girl and when that wasn't the case, I didn't know what to do!  Now I realize I should have found out (we had so many u/s because of a low-lying placenta and so many chances to find out, but we didn't) because then I would have had the time to grieve in silence and then truly enjoy his birth!  We found out with DS#3 and I never suffered from GD at all.  It could have been because I didn't think we were "done" yet - I wanted four.  Three boys and a girl.  But as you can see, we are at 4 boys and "what the heck do we do now?!?!" stage.....

Oh dear, this IS huge!  We have all been there.  I've been sick with nerves so know exactly what you mean....it was terrible before the u/s especially with my 3rd!  I hope that you have complete peace whatever they tell you.  I can't wait to find out!
