    Feel better boy moms!

I took my baby Benjamin to the dr. for checkup today and there was a lady in there with 4 kids: 4 yr old girl, 3 yr old boy, 13 month old twin girls.  The lady was trying to keep the little boy sort of still and he wanted to whine and walk around some.....not at all hyper IMO.  Anyway, his mom was talking to another mom and said "This is why God didn't give me more boys."  She didn't mean it in a bad way toward boys, or at least I didn't take it that way.  I think she just meant that she wasn't strong enough to handle more than one boy HERSELF.....not trying to offend anyone with all girls here.  Point is that maybe other people see us all boy moms as stronger than we see ourselves and we should be seeing this!!  Hope this post makes sense to someone, lol.

You must totally be a glass 1/2 full kinda gal.  I, unfortunately, am not.  I would have heard that and got all fired-up mad because I would have heard her saying that she was thankful for not having more boys because of the way they act - not in reference to her strength (or lack thereof).  But, that's just me.  I'm quick to become defensive when comments like that are made.  I'm glad you were able to see it in a positive light!Idea

    Hi there,

Ummm, I am not the boy-mum she was referring to then, I have soo little patience

that I get angry with my sons for just doing the things boys normally do - fighting, bringing in

dirty shoes in the hallway etc etc - I will NEVER get used to that or feel comfie about that, no

matter how many boys (or girls) I ever will get LOL

LOL...ditto!  I would've been mad because she is lumping all boys into the same category. Three year old girls certainly whine too!

lol you're nicer than me. i wouldn't have perceived her comment like that at all. i interpret her comment as 'well, she can't handle boys and god knows it therefore she was blessed with her girls...' . i don't think she was talking about her strength...etc

Yeah, I agree with the other moms.  when I hear people say that it's seems like kind of a boy bash.

I'd have seen her comments as being secretly jealous that she only had 1 boy! Seriously, but that's how my mind works because I really wanted/want DS [And ALL kids* can be a pain; where do people get this idea that little girls are angels?!!]

I agree. I hate when people bash one gender, girl or boy, to make themselves feel better. I have to say that I'm also tired of reading titles like this one. I don't have a boy and when I read negative threads about girls [I'm not talking about this one], it really makes my GD even worse.

My apologies to those who feel this way.  I really did not mean to make anyone feel bad....I guess maybe I didn't explain this right and I apologise.

No apologies necessary- I wasn't offended by you!  I envy your great attitude!  I would have been annoyed by that mom's comment though.  Just the idea that boys are harder than girls annoys me.  It might very well be true, but it makes my GD worse to think it, you know?

Susan~ I would have taken it the way you did because I have had it said that way to me, I have been told thatboy Moms need alot more patience and strength because they are all over the place! I just laugh and say "not if I was your daughter I was a boy in a girls body when it came to activity!" Love Ya! In that way I LOVE being a boy mom! I love watching them come in all dirty and muddy watching their football games or doing stuff with the Cub Scouts (except for Camping but will have to try it soon) so if God chooses to make me a mom of 4 boys I will miss having a lil girl to share girl stuff with and plan a wedding and teach about girl things but I will be fine with my boys Heart
