Newcomer to 'Mature Mamas' group - thought I'd say hi!

    Hello everyone,

I'm pleased I've found this little group, I'm 37, so I must be in the right place!  I've written a few posts on gender swaying but don't think I've written any here yet.   This is a great site, and I've enjoyed reading up on all your posts/advice etc.

I've got 2 DS's and am swaying for a DD.  It's taken me this long to decide to TTC another child (6 years from last DS) as I needed to be sure that I would be happy being a mom of 3 boys, if another DS were to pop out!  Now that I'm happy to have a DS or DD I'm ready to crack on, and I'm really getting quite broody!

I've only had one attempt so far - not worked - but I'm going to be patient!  Due to my age, I don't think my fertility window is as wide as other younger Mum's, so I'm looking at doing a 2 day Shettles cut off.

Good luck to you all and I hope you get your BFP's soon!

    Love Ya! Hi and welcome,

Have you considered to to TBM which really has better

oods than just a shettles? maybe you ought at least to change your ph a bit, increasing chances of a girl

Hi Adnil.  Yeah, I would do an O+12 too if the timing was right.  For example, last month my 12-20 hours from the O+12 was daytime and DH was not around.

    Hi Krissymum!

What do I need to do for the TBM?

My CM pH is always very low.  Mainly stays between 4.5 and 5 so I think I am naturally very acidic.  If I lower it any more, I'll probably kill off all the swimmers!

Sunny- i think O+12 or tbm are the best bets...

Have you had a chance to test Dh's ph? That might help you decide! If his is high he might cancel out your low but if he is low O+12 might be a great plan...

    Hi Deech,

Did some regular testing of DH's pH last month.  It is 7 or 7.5.  How does that sound to you?

I've looked up TBM.  Don't know about that one.  I'm sure there's been many success stories with it, but it just seems a bit too clinical to me.  Not sure if DH would be wanting to do this method, anyway.

Sooz- lol I can understand that,,,, yes tbm has had alot of success and is a bit weird at first, but hey we do what we gotta do right LOL???

Dh has a ph of 7ish that is great so  if tbm is out I would go for the O+12.. let me know what you decide! Good luck!

    Hi Deech,

I have given a lot of thought to the TBM.  I'm sure it does have a very good success rate but I don't think I'm going to go down that path.  Personally, I think it is just going a bit too far in changing the course of nature, for me.  It's just seems a little bit too clinical.

I'm going to give the O+12 a try, as well as Shettles (2-3 day cut off) and take sudofed, use aci gel and do the lime tampon after DTD.  Guess that's my plan.  I think I read somewhere that you should do the O+12 44 hours after your get your positive OPK reading.  Does that sound right to you?
