Hey, you!  You're my CD reviewer.  I'm on the verge of hitting the send button to get myself some BG 3.0's, as you have.  But, before I do, please tell me if you PREFER these CD to disposables, or - in hindsight - think you would have been just as happy staying with disposables.

I wanna know:  (1) HOW MANY to buy, (2) what colors do you prefer, (3) did you get any extra liners or other "accessories," (4) do you use them at night, (5) do you use the disposable liners to help with the poop, (6) do you wash them by themselves or with other stuff?  (I know this is a stupid question...)

If anyone else wants to chime in, I'd love to hear it!  I know that OAB has recently moved to CD too, but I can't remember if she is using BG.  I know that KDG has been using EVERY kind out there!  MT, what about you?  What kind did you go with?  Anyone else?

Char, I have blueberry cd. I bought 8 and am happy with that number. I wash daily and am happy I made the cloth switch. However, I do not like using them with shorts. The bulkness is too much for me. The blueberry are pretty slim from what I read from reviews but in non stretchy shorts I just can't do them. Maybe it is because she has a lot of junk in her trunk. Good luck with your decision

Oh thanks, Terra!  Do you go through all 8 a day usually?  Or fewer?  (I guess I don't really count how many Kate goes through, but I think it is less than 8?

Why did you decide to use those instead of BumGenius?  Did you try other brands?  What colors do you have?  Did you have to go up a size in clothes because of the bulk?

I'm sure the woman who watcher her while I'm working will not wanna mess with these.  (She will watch her 3 days a week.)  It will still be worth it, right?

Re: MO3P - your CD review?

I don't use all 8 in a day usually about 5 sometimes 6. I never used bum genius or any other brands. I chose blueberry because they were cute. As far as size I didn't go up because she doesn't use them with shorts or pants. I think in the winter she will use them less. I just really can't stand that huge diaper butt. Her closet is mostly dresses. And remember, I live in florida, winter days are far and few between. I till think it will be worth it because each time you are able to do cloth is on less dis.diaper that you have to pay for and one less in a land fill. What made you want to switch?

Re: MO3P - your CD review?

yes! i have BG 3.0 they are the majority of my diaper stash.

    HOLT:
     (1) HOW MANY to buy,

i have 7 3.0, 1 2.0, 2 bum`ware, and 2 drybees (not good quality) i wash ever couple of days, but i dont CD exclusively. when i am out and about i use sposies, and i use sposies overnight

    HOLT:
    (2) what colors do you prefer

i like the pink and green the best. and white is nice to have if it is under something sheerish

    HOLT:
    (3) did you get any extra liners or other "accessories,

    no!

    HOLT:
    (5) do you use the disposable liners to help with the poop

    no, but maybe i should?

    HOLT:
    (6) do you wash them by themselves or with other stuff?  (I know this is a stupid question...)

no such thing as a stupid question... but yes, i ALWAYS wash them with only other diapers.... nothing else

my experience with CD has been a little hit or miss. there are days when i have zero leaks and am so glad i use CD b/c i think it is better for the environment. then there are days when it seems like every CD i put on her leaks and i want to reach for the sposies.

but i do LOVE LOVE my cloth wipes! they are great and i really dont see the point in disposible ones... except for when we are out and about.

Why the switch?  Well, I got a new washer that WORKS and they look easy to use and DS2 is still using pull-ups at night and I wanna get some washable ones for him too.  DH is not at all interested, but that's alright.  He'll get used to them!

You're right, the BB ones ARE cute.  I can see why you want them under Gracyn's dresses!

    HOLT:
    (1) HOW MANY to buy,
depends if you want to wash them everyday, if you also want ds2 to use them and if you are going to go strickly CD or if you are also going to use disposables. i have 5 BG 3.0, 2 crappy ones i bought off ebay, 1 bamboo motherease, 1 no brand hand me down, and 1 i made myselfStick out tongue

But Bum Genius are by far my favorite. They are easy to use and they do not leak. AgreeAgree I'm probably going to buy more but i also want to try Fuzzi bunz because i have heard good things about them. I also want to get 1 blueberry just because they are too darn cute. so i'm going to hold off buying more until i try those ones just in case i like them better. i also want to make more of my own.

    HOLT:
    (2) what colors do you prefer,
i have 3 pink, 1 yellow and 1 green. i love the pink and green.
    HOLT:
    3) did you get any extra liners or other "accessories,"
No extra liners are needed. They come with 2 liners. A newborn and a regular. I still use the newborn liner with dd because she is not a huge wetter and they are less bulky. And i use the regular liner with ds3 because he is a huge wetter and he is bigger. So far no leak with either.
    HOLT:
    (4) do you use them at night,
I have not use them yet... just because i still have a case of disposable for each of them. But once i run out i do plan on using them at night
    HOLT:
    (5) do you use the disposable liners to help with the poop,
i haven't yet. But i do plan to go out this weekend and buy some at Wal-Mart. because i realy hate dealing with poop
    HOLT:
    (6) do you wash them by themselves or with other stuff?
Okay i'm a bit of a freak and wash them all by themselves. I don't want the poop or pee on my other clothes and stuff. i know it sounds stupidGeeked because after all it is in the laundry.I guess it's the germophob in me. And I wash them every night.

I like that i am saving money on buying disposables and i like that less is going in the landfil. I do not regret buying. But i do hate dealing with the poop. So i am going to buy the liners. When the poop is firm it is easy but when it is runny and messyYuck. Which is why i have decided to buy liners. Also wanted to say that it fits dd and ds3 beautifully. dd is 16lbs and ds3 is 35lbs

For some reason, my replies (using QUOTE) are not going through!  I'll check tomorrow if they've found their way so I don't duplicate.   I sent one to both OAB and MO3P.  Thanks to you both and I have more questions...more later.

    Night night.  Yawn.

I use them morning noon and night and have had NO leaks.

this just really makes me wonder WHAT i am doing wrong??? i get leaks ALL THE TIME!!!

i use an approved detergent, only use a very small amount of it, rinse and rinse the diapers, but still i have leaks! it is so disheartening... i so wanted to use cloth. but they just dont seem to work for us?
