Mad Furious [8o|] Pee on the seat (UPDATE Alligus!!)

So, everytime I go to the bathroom I have to clean the seat and if I forget then I will be sitting in pee!!  How in the world do I get my kiddos to lift the seat when they pee???  I am so tired of having to clean pee off the seat everytime I need to go.  I have even made them clean it but that didn't work either...plus that takes too long if I have to go in a hurry, lol.  ADVICE PLEASE!!!

I;ve never really had this problem with my kids....our problem is that they don't put it back down, but one of ds1's friends never lifted the seat....and let me tell you as gross as it is to sit in your own kids' pee, it's a thousand times worse when it's not theirs. Lol. The little twit wouldn't lift the seat no matter how many times I'd tell him, so I started making him clean the toilet off every time he used it. Every time, whether he peed on the seat or not. After a couple days of that he started lifting the damn seat...and I could tell b/c I could hear him slam it up. Stick out tongue

I am sorry to hear that you sat on some other kid's peeYuck!!  I hadn't thought of making them clean it whether they pee on the seat or not so I am going to try that.  How long should it take before I should start seeing some results??

It took weirdo friend less than 2 days. And he's not real bright. Lol....can't stand that kid. I would think that if you stuck to your guns, checked after they went to the bathroom, and made them clean it if they didn;t lift the seat it wouldn't take long.

Now if you had any suggestions on how to get my kids to lower the seat when they're done, I'd love to hear them!Happy LOL

lol! My 7 y/o is very good and considerate as is my toddler but ODS! NO WAY! besides the fact that at 13y/o he is 5'8 so he towers above the potty! I feel bad for my mom since she is the one who share the potty with them Worried

Everytime my sweet William goes to the potty I tell him one of two things: 1) Pee in the toilet not on it. or 2) If you sprinkle when you tinkle be a sweetie and wipe the seatie.  I luckily have never had trouble with them putting the lid down.

Now can anyone make a suggestion on how for William to not get poo on his hands when he wipes his hiney?

I have no suggestions for the seat or the pee.  I too am so sick of sitting in pee.  DS1 is always in such a hurry that he tries to flush the toilet while he is still going.  If he can't aim well to begin with, multi-tasking is definitely not gonna work!

Danielle - I haven't seen you on here much lately.  I'm glad to "see" you and I hope you're doing well!  As for the poo - do you have him use the flushable wipes?  My boys have good luck with them.

My 4 yr old always cleans up his pee on the seat but I wish he would just lift it. I have given up asking. Luckily he has claimed the half bath as his own so I just try to avoid that toilet.

This might sound really silly and I'm thinking its a cultural thing but why don't they just sit down? Wouldn't that be easier? Mine always sit and the bathroom is spotless but when we are out I obviously tell them to stand up!

Ahhh...the joys of boys!  I remember when I found out DC was son #3, I thought "I'll never have a clean toilet again"  What makes is even worse is 2 of my 3 sons sleepwalk.  You can forget about good aim when they are sleeping!  Also, they've peed in weird places in the middle of the night, like a toybox (one where you lift the lid like a toilet seat) and the cat's litter box (didn't mind that one so much Stick out tongue)

Ok my 2 boys also do this. I am so tired of cleaning the seat. I've tried making them clean it but it hasn't helped. I also have 1 that sleep walks. I find that if i leave the night light on in the bathroom they seem to sleep walk right to the bathroom to pee instead of peeing in the room:(Oh the joy of boys!!

Great news gals!!!  I followed Alligus' advice about having them clean the seat EVERYTIME whether they peed on it or not if the seat was down and it's working.  They still slip up now and then but for the most part they are remembering to let the seat up and watch their aim!!  I am so excited!!  I got a huge container of clorox wipes and they have to clean the WHOLE toilet area with those everytime!!  Just really wanted to thank Alligus Happy Wink
