    Boys vs. girls CNN article

    http://www.cnn.com/2008/HEALTH/family/06/17/harder.to.raise/index.html

This article really sounded like my boys.

Looks like according to this boys are harder, pretty much in every category. :(

Wow!  That's depressing!  LOL!  I have to say that I don't think mine are as bad as this article says they are.  I notice mine are super active though......LOL!

I have to say that just from experience and in watching boys in general, most of these are pretty dead on.......but to me it's not at all depressing. I love that my boys are boys....they are rambunctious and willing to take risks. There may be big differences from girls their same age maturity wise or educationally, but the boys come out ahead in other areas so it kind of equals out, IMO.

But that's what I love about them. And to be honest, it makes me proud to think that I've raised my boys to be the wonderful, thoughtful young men that they are and the honest, hard-working husbands that they will eventually be...and if it's harder to do that than to raise great women, then more kudos to me. Happy Wink

I think boys are just naturally more apt to take risks and be more aggressive than girls, but that doesn't necessarily mean they are harder, as the article implies in each of its sections. Girls tend to internalize their struggles a lot more, which makes it scary as a parent. They are more likely to get into things like promiscuity and getting drunk without you ever finding out, where boys are more likely to act out in a more open way.
