    NIGHTMARES!!!??

Hi all, this is my second pregnancy and I'm not getting any rest due to nightmares!  One night it's a murderer, the next it's someone trying to take my daughter, the next it's a body buried someplace.......seriously!!!  The worst part is when I wake up screaming and go back to sleep, it continues!  It's really disrupting my life, has anyone had a similar experience and what did you do to help this issue?  Is this something that's common during pregnancy?  i don't remember this with my first.

     Thanks!

    Re: NIGHTMARES!!!??

I have to laugh!  I have the most bizarre dreams.  When pregnant they're 10X worse!  Last night my dream was that I was growing black hair on my stomach. A week ago I had a nightmare that my husband tried to run me over with the car because I told him he didn't have his headlights on and that's why a car was following us.  I ran to the side of the road crying and my daughter clinging to my leg.  A man pulled up and took out a shotgun and held it to my DH's head and told him if he ever laid a hand on me again he'd blow his brains out.  I woke up literally screaming and crying.  So, yes.  I think nightmares come with the pregnancy package.  I, like you, have had more horrible dreams with this pregnancy-with DD#2 they were all sex, sex, and more sex!  I got to live a lot of fantasies without getting in troubleHappy LOL

    Re: NIGHTMARES!!!??

Wow!  It sounds like your subconscience is working overtime.  I know this can even seem debilitating at times.  I couldn't deal with nightmares every night.  Are you religious?  If you are, I would just say a prayer at night and ask God to take these bad dreams away.  Maybe meditation before bedtime.  Also try some warm milk and soothing music.  Don't watch tv a few hours before bed too.  That can really cause nightmares to flare up...even if what you are watching isn't scary.  I don't think this is related to pregnancy so much as built up stress in your life.  Maybe try to get to the root of why they are occuring.  If you have worrys you are not verbalizing in real life, verbalize them.  Our minds are so very complex, but your dreams should not be keeping you up.  Hope they go away....
