Wow! It is just a house. She obviously had more issues than forclosure. I know that sounds harsh but I don't know why somebody would do that. Very tragic.

I didnt think insurance paid out on it either. Very sad! I hope this doesnt start a whole trend of crazy people doing this!

Yeah, I'm pretty sure there's a double-tragedy here - man loses wife AND home. I doubt he'll see any insurance money.

I heard this too. Very sad.

As for insurance paying on suicides, it depends on your policy. Here is a very ironic story:

DH and I updated our policies before DS #1 was born. Our insurance representative was an aquaintance of DH's from high school. We joked about a few things and suicide came up. Apparently, our policy has a 2-year clause: we have to have had the policy for 2 years and then if a suicide occured, they would pay out.
Why is this ironic? 8 months later, our insurance representative killed himself (he was battling depression) leaving his wife and 2 young daughters fatherless. She was paid the insurance money b/c he had the policy for more than 2 years.

Our policy has the two-year clause for suicide. How horribly sad that someone would think that her house is worth more to her family than she is.

That is so sad.

But many people are suffering right now because of these greedy loan companies and there faulty loans.

It really is a sad story. Poor family.
