Did your Dr. do the test?

For those of you that were taking fertility meds, did your dr make you skip them the month you had your HSG?

How long does it take?

Did you get the results immediately?

Did your Dr. do the test? - no I went to a radiology lab and they did it.

For those of you that were taking fertility meds, did your dr make you skip them the month you had your HSG? - I did my IUI then the next time I had AF I started clomid then did IUI.  PREGNANT! - ( I had never taken any fert. meds before this.) they say you have an eveb better chance of getting pregnant after because it cleans everything out i guess.

How long does it take? - well for me it took about 20 minutes.  It took them forever to get the catheter in...  most people dont have that problem.  THe actual test took about 45 seconds.

Did you get the results immediately?- YEP!!  You get to see it live on the screen as they do it.  My person told me what I should see etc. I got a copy of the film for myself to keep as a momento.  lol 

 

No I had a nurse and a radiologist do the test.

I called today to make my appointment for my HSG.  I go next week.  My doctor is doing mine, so I'm not as nervous about it now.

Hi mommyto1boy, I just had a HSG as they though I had a Fibroid. Everthing went well  and I do not have a Fibroid and my Tubes are clear Yeh!  Everything look good.

I unfortunatley had a stubborn Uterus and so the process was a bit uncomfortable and harder. But it really is not that bad and looking on the screen your Dr should explain what is going on.

 Most unfortunatley, I got an infection from all the playing around and have just come out of Hospital, so my thoughts are if you feel back pain and urinate alot after, do not ingnore it like me and go straight to the Docs.

In saying that I am probably one in 1000 that had this problem, so do not worry.  Plus I am unsual in most things

Melody2008- When after the HSG did you start to have problems?  I am leaving for vacation 5 days after my HSG and am a little worried about having problems while I'm out of the country.  Should I ask my DR for an antibiotic just in case?

Hi - a couple of days later and I ingnored it!  I had a really sore back and was going to the toilet all the time.  But the bacj was the main thing.

 Honestly, I would not worry as I truly believe I was unusual.  Perhaps mention to your concern to the Doc and get the antibiotics.  He/she will probably dismiss the concern but I would ask for the antibiotics just in case.

I had my HSG and the doctor says everthing looked good.  It was just uncomfortable.  I had a little cramping for a few days after.  I mentioned to him about the infection and he said it could happen, but he had never seen anyone have any problems. 

I am glad to hear it all came out ok.  They gave me antibiotics to take for the day before, of and after... to prevent infections. Again congrats!
