low progesterone has me worried

My progesterone on 7 day past IUI was 8.  then he put me on prometrium 4 times a day 100mg.  I went in this past monday for beta #1 and it was 431 and then progesterone was 21.4!  YIPEE

 But today had beta #2 and it was 898!  GOOD! but my progesterone was down to 18!  He doubled my prometrium to boost it back up to the 20's.  Cant low progesterone cause m/c?  He thinks I didnt just have "irregular" periods.  HE thinks I may have been miscarring!  I am kinda scared.

Now I know why people wait to tell family and friends about being pregnant so early!  I couldn't resist...  I am getting more nervous about this whole thing! 

Anyone have any insight to this?  I go in for another beta and also prog. test friday morning. And a possible ultrasound Monday!

first of the guidline is 15 or higher for medicated cycle, 10 or higher for non medicated. so anything over 15 is great. That being said, I had Gage and my progesterone was like 12, decided no supps, my MC baby we did supps and everything and I still lost her, completely unrelated to the prog. Can you go on the shots of PIO? Those can help. Better absorption I think.

when I hit 1000 they said I will come in every week for blood work ultrasound and then shots of prog.  SO until monday it is the pills!  I have such a hard time taking them I tend to forget!  lol  But i cram them into like 7 hours vs the 24!  haha  but that only happend a few times.  It is so much easier to remember pills when they are for a baby in you and not yourself!

ps did you get another beta today?  Is it more than one? 

HAHA they dont want any more betas. Going straight for US this Friday, so day after tomorrow we will see if its one or two or more!
