i REALLY need to figure out a way to bring in some sort of income. and me getting an outside job is not an option right now. so the only thing i can do is make things at home and try and sell them. problem is i cant seem to find something to make that anyone wants to buy!!!!

i am great at all types of crafting and am aces with a glue gun ...i would probably be classified under JACK OF ALL TRADES< MASTER OF NONE

in other arenas...i am a fair crocheter, and a fair to poor sew er LOL!!

If you can crochet, you can make cloth diaper covers from soft lambs wool and sell them on ebay. I bought one for $30 a while ago. There are free patterns online. If you can sew, try making cloth diapers and other baby items. Those things seem to sell very well on ebay of google.

Also baby blankets are a hit. You cna make really cute ones, very easily with limited sewing. Something soft, not too bulky and with an adorable theme would be awesome!! Baby quilts too.

I would buy baby blankets (crocheted/knitted/patchwork). I love them and sometimes it is hard to find nice ones on ebay. Also baby boomerang pillows with cases/covers. I have bought these too. Pram liners, bibs, crafty giftboxes ie for babies/kids keepsakes etc. Dh goes to garage sales and markets and buys things for cheap and then resells them on ebay and makes a profit. Trolley liners for when baby sits in the trolley - do ykwim? tag blankets (little square pieces of cloth with lots of different type tags sewn into them - cost me $30 and DS3 doesn't even like it lol). I would go and have a look at a baby store for some suggestions. What about fun placemats for kids that you can wash? ok that's it for now! lol I just realised I listed a lot of baby things but I guess it is amazing what mothers will buy for their littlies!

Hmmm....well there are things that I look for from time to time on ebay.  I do love crafty things that I can't do myself.  One in particular is photo albums with the fabric of my choice.  Since my SIL loves winnie the pooh, I will be seeking a photo album with winnie the pooh fabric.  I do not like the prices on ebay.  This one is going for 29 with 10 bucks shipping.  I just dont' think it's worth that much.  I could do one....i just don't want to...LOL...

Let me think of other things too...

 Are you a good photographer? My DH is one and if we could afford one of those $700.00 fancy printers, we could sell some of his stuff.  On second thought, we might just have to break down and do it  anyway. He says  a lot of my photos are good as well, so maybe it could work. Hey, thanks for giving me a little incentive there.

i dont want to make cloth diapes... i dont think i would be any good at them... and they sound tidious (sp?) the wool covers could be a good idea though?

i have the fabric to make burp cloths b/c i was going to do that... but never followed through. i may eventually do it though... i think they would be cute.

if i can find a good way to make a fast baby blanket i may do that too.... but right now the effort to crochet one just doesnt pan out as far as what i could sell it for

I have some friends who do infant photography (younger than 6 weeks) in sleeping pictures like Anne Geddes.  So many new moms want those pictures, so there is definitely the market for them.  My friend's businesses run on word of mouth, and they stay pretty busy.  Best of luck!

 I'm trying to think of things too....I think the wool covers would be a good idea (i can't knit or crochet so not so good for me) I'm thinking the baby blanket idea is good for me (like the rag quilt i made for myself)...but i agree with you that it takes too long and too much effort and it just would not pan out for what i could sell it for

 I'm really keen to find something to make and sell.  I am a natural embroiderer (is that a word??) and make baby blankets for friends.  I wanted to make 'doudous' (like taggies with little heads on) as my daughter has a huge collection and they're very popular over here.  Do you think there is any law on this kind of thing..I wouldn't want to make something that could hurt a child in any way..

 Would you buy something like this (I would make a simpler version, as I would be too scared about the head coming off..)??

yes. i think people would buy it. i bought all kinds of stuff off ebay to add finishing touches to the nursery. boppie covers, diaper geenie covers, changing pad covers. i guess i really like to cover things. lol. a friend of mine started a kids party business. she would handle everything from invites, food, grab bags, clean up. she had a couple parties, but stopped. she was doing well.
