How important is DH's Ph?

I'm just curious if this has any impact on getting my girl.  I started off giving DH 10,000mg of cranberry.  Well he tested his saliva and it came back as very acidic around the 4.0 range.  My saliva was perfect and I am taking over twice as much cranberry.  DH freaked and said no more cranberry cause he was scared of the negative effects of messing with the bodies PH balance.  I know you cant go by saliva ph, but try telling my DH that. So that night we tested his swimmers and he was at a 8.25.  And that was with cranberry on board.  Well now he refuses to take anymore and Im afraid his ph will go even higher.  Is having his ph around a 7 important?  What else can we do to get his ph down?

His ph is pretty important- it really helps to have his lowered so that you can keep yours lowered easier after bd. You could try having him drink lots of crystal lite- tell him its just good for ttc a girl- maybe don't tell him it lowers his ph if he is being unreasonable in that area. There are other reasons to have his lower, but that is just one. Someone else can maybe explain it better. Also- have him take calcium, magnesium, and vitamin c supplements. That lowers his ph too.

I was wondering that too, now I see once his "swimmies" are inside how they affect it.

Yowza!  I was afraid of that.  Guess I better beg and plead with DH to take his stinkin cranberry and drink some crystal light.  Im just glad that hes at least taking his cal and mag!

Does the dh's ph matter if you are doing tbm?? Because unless it is too low can't you lower it to what you want?

It is pretty important... I am hving problems keeping DH's down too! He is taking his cranberry, Cal, mag.... and even lowered his caffeine intake! but it's not going down by much :(

I suppose it's a lot easier to lower it to where you want if it is a a lower starting point.

Still very important.  A few months back some were reporting that ALL sperm were freezing (after looking under the scope) and the thought was that if you have to add a LOT of lime (as when dh's ph was higher than desirable) than perhaps all sperm are affected.  We hope that the girls wake up first but I don't think we know how much edge they have under those conditions.  That said, the spreadsheet does show some w/ dh phs' starting out higher (TBM) resulting in girl.  But if you can get him onboard, lower ph for him would definately be a benefit.

Saliva, urine & CM/semen all have very different ranges to be considered 'normal' pHs. Are you testing saliva correctly? It is normal to run lower than urine, but 4 is definitely really low. It makes me think maybe it was too close to to eating/drinking/taking supplements and maybe is inaccurate.

 Also, remind your DH that a temporarily low pH isn't going to kill him. It's not like he's on this diet for life!
