I could be wrong...maybe my memory is fading, but I feel that the love and adoration we have for our little girl is different than for our boys.  She brings out a softer side in all of us!  Even though she was born just over 8 weeks ago, I still cannot believe she is here (so much so that I wish she had an identical twin sister to complete our family)!  I am amazed evertime I see a pink or lavender clothing item!  We should all consider ourselves so lucky to have these little girls in our lives!  I have to keep reminding myself that she is really here and a part of our family...or sometimes I think it just can't be real!

LOL...you are so right!  I feel the same way about our dd.  She has definitely brought out a softer side in the whole family.  It is a lot of fun to watch my boys with her since normally they are very rough and they love to get dirty but when dd is around they try to keep her clean...LOL

So true!  Like you both have said, our dd brings a "softer" side to our family as well.  It changes the family dynamics.

Oh believe me, I do!  Even though dd is now 15 months old, there are still times when I catch myself thinking "Wow, I have a dd!"

LOL  At 8 weeks she doesn't whine muchHappy Giggle!  You know, if my boys ever try whining, I just tell them that I don't understand what they are saying (even if I really do understand) or I'll say, "Would you like some cheese with that whine (wine)?"  Those two things nip any whining in the bud immediatelyHappy ROFL!

Redcin...your making me scared!!! You are so funny!  I really thought those line (especially pretending not to understand anything they say if they whine) would work with any child.  It does work with my boys...it is extremely rare if there is any whining in this house.  You know what...my best friend tells me that my house is the loudest house of all of her friends with children (none of her other friends have three boys).  But I rarely notice the noise.  All of my boys are very loud, very vocal, and very social.  If I have other adults over they often think they are over to visit with THEM!Devil

So did I!  I was a preschool teacher for 10 years and I really thought parent made whinny kids.  Well trust me, I was a great teacher and I follow threw on my threats.  They don't work for my girls.  That being said, it may work for your dd.  It has a lot to do with there personalities and my dh and I are very stubborn people- so we make stubborn kids.

I love watching my boys and my dh with my dd. i agree that it does bring out the softer side in them. We all love her so much and are very thankful. Somedays i look at her playing on the floor and i still can't believe i have a dd. i thank god every day for this blessing.

This is a HUGE reason why I want a DD...there is nothing "soft" about my house!  My DH already is too tough on the baby, IMO.  I 100% believe he would be totally different if Caden was a girl, but I try to be understanding because he is suffering from GD too (he wanted a girl also).  However, he isn't suffering enough to want to try again, unfortunately!

At any rate, I know a DD would bring out the softer side of DH and my big boys, and also teach the Caden that girls are not aliens.  I say this last part because my oldest son has had no experience being around girls at all (not even girl cousins or neighbors) and now, at the age of almost 16, he is suffering because of it...he is extremely shy and has no friends that are girls!  I doubt he will ever get up the courage to ask a girl out on a date.  He flat out does not know how to act around them.  But that's a topic for another post!

Hello everyone!  Gosh,,,I haven't been on here in awhile!  Yes, my DD does bring out a softer side in everyone.  My boys, who would never go down the "pink and purple isle" in the store now love looking at the pink and purple isle.  They would actually pick out many more pink and purple outfits than she needs...I have to restrain them!!  They adore her so much as do my husband and I.
