I want to learn from all of you!  I want to know if these are better than pH strips.  The ones that are correctly working for cm didn't exist back when I was swaying so you need to teach me.  Lets experiment and see what we learn. Then I can make a recommendation.

Re: Those with a digital pH tester please stop here!

I just started using one this cycle. I wasn't really sure if I was reading the strips correctly so I wanted a second opinion. The digital reading is immediate and matches the strips accuratly. What I did notice though was that we are able to read the strips sooner than we thought. TMI I find it easy to moniter my VJ pH by just sticking the thing up there, then I double check by swiping some on the strip and they match. It also gave me confidence when it comes to semen because the strips continue to change color all the way until it drys I was never sure if I was reading it at the right time. This way I know for sure as the digital reading comes up right away and the strip shows the same. Both CM and Semen match the digital reading on the strip within about 30sec-1 minute.

I have one, and while I have nothing to compare it to I think it's accurate.  I typically just insert it in there until it stops moving.  My pH is falling right in the range it should be right now.  HTH

the cm that sways is only on the cervix.  How does sticking it up there test just that?

This post is a great i dea Red....since soooo much depends on pH...the accurate the test the more strong the sway will be Agree...

Just wanted to add though if the ppl who own it could also tell where and how they got the digital pH tester from and what cost....TIA~

Re: Those with a digital pH tester please stop here!

I swipe from my cervix for the strip and stick it as far up there as I can and they read the same. I usually monitor it about 5-6 times a day and it stays within about 5 points all day. IE this morning it was 4.3 and just now I tested again and it reads 4.8 so I am going to drink some crystal light and take some cranberry and test again this afternoon. Yesterday when I did this exact same thing in the afternoon/evening it was back down to 4.2.

oh ok.. well from what I read, the walls of the vj will always be low.  Its the cm from the cervix you need to worry about

Re: Those with a digital pH tester please stop here!

I have taken the cm from the cervix out and tested that, and I compare with the reading I have from inserting the tester.  They are nearly the same number.  When I insert the tester I try to position it so that it's touching my cervix.

We are not currently trying, and so I haven't taken measures to reduce my pH, but right now it's running around 6.  I tested DH one time, and he was at an 8.

I have one but have not tested CM yet or DH. I have only tested EW and water. Maybe I will test DH tonight and report back! Those of you that do have one...which one is it? I ahve the Hanna 99104. Do any of you have this one and can I just stick mine "up there" too? Embarrassed

Re: Those with a digital pH tester please stop here!

I have the Hanna one as well.  I posted about it awhile back and mentioned that it seems to be accurate and match what the strips say, except for with DH's sample!  His sample with the Alkalive strips always stays the same - about 8.5, but it's ranges between about 7.3 and 7.8 on the digital.  It's interesting what the pp said though, about the colour changing after a certain amount of time, because as soon as I put his sample on the test strip it looks like it's in the 7s but then very quickly it changes to a high 8... even when the digital tester says it's in the 7s.  I'm going to trust the digital one because everything else I've tested matches with the strips, so I'm assuming it has something to do with the strength of DHs sample or something strange like that!

    ok here is my question...

test cm right away with pH strips and tester.. then at 10 mintues sitting do it again for boy then at 15 and 20. See if the tester changes with the strips

I'm not sure exactly what you mean (I think I'm having a dumb day today!), but here's the thing with my tester.... I don't usually put it into my hoochie coochie for the same reason you mentioned before - I usually only test the cm that I get right out of my cervix.... AND, I can only ever get enough of that when my cm is thicker and creamy or if there's a glob of EWCM, which I don't get very often (sorry tmi).  When it's thinner and watery, I can't ever get enough for it to register properly on the little bulb of the tester, which is why I mainly use the strips for my cm.

BUT, I will try testing at different time intervals with DH's sample.  (One thing about all this ph testing is that DH now says to me, "I think I feel very alkaline today... we better take care of things and test my ph!!!!! Happy ROFL )
