First of all I wanted to thank everyone for the baby, BFP, pink, and all sorts of dust as well as your prayers for this month. I highly doubt I am pregnant though. To make a long story short I had posted awhile back in April about getting my bloodwork done and my OBGYN told me that everything was normal. I went on my merry way but yet I am still not pregnant so I decided to send my lab results over to a family friend that is an OBGYN.
He called me last night and said that I am textbook case of PCOS!!! I have no clue why my doctor didn't catch that. My testosterone was on the high end and even flagged as high. My LH (14.82) was 3 times more than my FSH (3.08) which is also the first sign of PCOS.
He has known me my whole life and told me this is why I struggle with weight loss and my weight in general.
On the plus side he has an "in" with Dr. Maud Doherty the other of The Fertility Handbook and I should know what day my appointment is in August sometime today!!...

I have a couple of questions though for anybody that has this or is familiar with it. Have you taken Metformin? Does it have side effects or what does it do to you? I understand that most PCOS patients are insulin resistant which explains alot for my weight but I don't know how Metformin works with infertility. Do you know the success rate of Metformin used in combo with Clomid?
What can I expect to go through, just in general, with seeing an infertility specialist. Is there anything that I should do or bring with me to help me better prepare? I am going to take next month off from TTC should I still temp and use my Ovacue to track my cycle even though I am not trying? I figured the more information I give her the better right?
I am just at a loss right now and I wish I could have done something earlier but I have to hope for the best. Since he classified me as text book maybe this will be easy to fix. I also have to hold out hope that maybe I did release an egg this month and I am just lucky and will get pregnant. I don't think that will happen but I can always pray right!
Thank you for any advice or suggests!
