I was thinking of trying Chinese Medicine for fertility as I have heard some excellent success stories , until someone told me the Chinese Herbs tend to favour boy pregnancies quite highly.

Has anyone used Chinese medicine before?

Hi Elana, I was going to do the same   I just thought about it and 4 of my friends had boys while taking Chinese Medicine. Oh my goodness very interesting when you think about it.

My good friend is a very experienced  and very well regarded Chinese Medicine Practioner.  I will contact him and see what he has to say and let you know.

I hope I have stumbled on something for people TTC boys.

Not sure if  this helps, but when I conceived my DS, I was drinking a special tea called Calli tea, which is a product from Sunrider products.... they use lots of roots and herbs and things like that (I think the products were intially based on Chinese medicine). I was also eating a powder called NuPlus, which was the same thing - lots of powerdered roots and leaves and berries and stuff.  (Sounds whacky, I know, but it's supposed to be really good for you!)  Anyway, I don't know if it had anything to do with conceiving a boy, but needless to say I'm not taking any of it now since we're ttc a girl this time!

My SIL and her hubby were taking Chinese Meds low and below they had a baby boy. Perhaps there is something in it.

I was receiving acupuncture when we conceived our 2nd DS, but not our first.

 In fact I have heard more stories about Chinese Herbs being very very boy friendly

The nurse who took out my IUD is a friend ( I embarrasingly know all of the  at my Doc surgery well enough to party with!!)  She asked why I was getting it removed, didn't it suit me etc.  I said we were gooing to try for #4, and try for a Boy.  She said to try Chinese Medcine as in her experience it worked well.( other patients had informed her)

Forgot about it till now!  Just my luck.  Gotta take what I get now!

I finally spoke my friend whom is a very well regconised and respected Chinese Fertily Doctor over 20 years practicing. 

I asked him what percentage of preganancies where boys when he prescribed Chinese herbs and he said that thehe has noted that 85% to 90% of his patients conceived a boy!!!!!!!!!  over a twent year span. 

Even after secondary infertility where the Mother has had previous girl pregancies.  I was shocked and that is why he will not help me as I am trying ttc DD.

He has kindly offerred to give us a basic list of what herbs that is used and will do some further research and provide that to me.

I am now getting him interested in researching how to conecive girls with Chinese Herbs.  Which he will do and get back to us.

from what I have read in the past the chineses do have herbs for ttc a boy or a girl.  I know of one person that tried it for girl but didnt concieve while trying it.

hey melody...thankyou sooo much...this is soooo interesting..im personally a great beleiver in chinese medicine...ive used it to get rid of my constant sinus problems....they really do work.....i just CANT wait to get the list of herbs he prescribes.....i KNOW that my body reacts very well to herbs and herbal products...please do keep us updates,,,and thanks again.
