I keep coming across interesting statistics which talk about how something like 25 out of 26 mothers just 'know' what gender baby they are having...other reports say its something like 70%...

Anyway I find it all very interesting and I was just wondering if this held true for anyone here? It has definitely been true for me!! I just knew the second all 3 of my pregnancy tests came back positive that they were boys. Even though I was DESPERATE for a girl with my 3rd absolutely ALL of those feelings left me as soon as I fell pregnant and even being around little girls made me uncomfortable. For some reason, I really wanted my 3rd to be a boy, which was a complete shock to me. I even tried to force myself to 'think pink' and to want a girl but it just gave me a knot in my stomach. Was very strange. Can't wait to find out with this one to see if I'm really on a roll!! (My very first instinct was girl, and these feelings were intense right up until the 12 week ultrasound...I've now convinced myself it's another boy...will be able to find out in 5 weeks time.)

So anyhow, what about you ladies? Putting aside what you WANTED to have, what did you FEEL you were having?!?!?!? And were you right?

I knew my first was a boy in my heart.

As for the others I was so full of want and butterflys I couldn't tell. Just hoped.

    Disagree Thumbs down for me.

My DS1, I had no idea....so we won't even consider that one.

However, with this pregnancy.....I JUST KNEW IT WAS A GIRL.  "Boy" was I wrong (pun intended).  Anyway, all the signs were there (based on olds wives tales that is) - Chinese chart (girl); severe morning/noon/night sickness (girl); carrying high (girl); FHB 160+ (girl).....I could go on and on.

#1 Nope.  Surprised to see penis on U/S.

#2 Nope.  Thought it was a girl for sure!  Not.

    #3 We'll see.  I have no instinct.

DD1 - thought she was a he through the whole pregnancy, didn't find out the gender

DD2 - thought she was a he because had diffenert pregnancy, no m/s, lots of energy. Told Girl at 18wk u/s

Current Pregnancy - thought girl at first because i had 2 girls already and didnt think i could have a boy, KWIM?

So i didn't have the best instincts

    Re: Mother's instinct...

With dd#1 I really don't remember what my gut instinct was.  I remember I wanted a boy and thats really it.

With dd#2 I again wanted a boy, but remember specifically feeling like she was a girl.

With the baby I lost, I felt in my heart she was a girl too.  Even though I swayed for a boy.

ds#1 – no instinct at all!

ds#2 – From the start my gut instinct said boy, it was soooo strong!! I just knew it was a boy. Even when 2 u/s techs said girl, I just knew it was a boy! He is a he! (some u/s said boy others said girl, very confusing!)

    Re: Mother's instinct...

I usually have fairly decent intuition, but not so when it comes to predicting the gender of my babies.  I was convinced that DS #1 was a girl, and I was actually shocked when the tech showed me the boy parts.  I really had no feeling either way with DS #2, and since I had already had two boys, I was certain that baby #3 was going to be a boy.  I was also shocked at this U/S as well to learn that we're having a girl.  So, good thing I'm not interested in a gender prediction career... I'd be bankrupt already. Happy Wink

I had a strong instinct that both my kids were boys, and lo and behold they were.  I had a slight preference for my first to be a boy, and wanted DS2 to be a girl.  I am 13 weeks along and have  girl feeling with this one, but not sure if my desire and swaying are influencing it!

I don't have any instinct whatsoever.

I was 100% sure I was having a girl this time, I just KNEW it... I'm having a boy.

DS1 I knew he was a boy (I wanted it that way too)

DS2 wanted a girl so bad, but knew deep down that he was a boy (pregnancy was different than 1st).  Was not surprised at all when tech said boy, just sad.

I was sooo sure I was having a girl with my first that I bought tons of girl clothes took off the tags and washed them practically the minute I found out I was pg. (Pretty crazy I know). I don't have a strong feeling this time. I was soo worried about a mc because I have no feeling of what this baby will be. I just as badly want a girl this time. It looked pretty boyish during my 12 week us but then when I go look at boy clothes etc. it just feels so wrong. I'm not sure if this is because I want a girl so bad. I will find out in 4 weeks and post my results.
