Hi Clare, thanks for reply. what is the company called in Turkey and how much is it costing if you dont mind me asking? I have spoken to a lady at the Rainsbury clinic as I had a nightmare getting any info when I spoke to various clinics around the world. Its only since then that the dream of having a daughter seems a possible reality. I would be really greatful if you would PM me any info you have. Thank you

Hi.  I am hoping to try next year too.  I have just had my second son (who is 10 weeks) and like you started looking into this when I found out i was having a boy.  I haven't done much this year as focused on dealing with the last few months of pregnancy and getting ready for him.

Perhaps we should help each other as it is so overwhelming about where to start and what to do?

Yes defintately, congratulations on baby number 2 what have you called him? How are you finding having 2? Is there much of an age gap between your boys?

Re: anyone from uk planning PGD?

He is called Billy and there is a 2.5 age gap between them.  I am really enjoying it and it feels nice to be a family.  It isn't as hectic as I thought but my oldest goes to nursery 3 days a week which helps!!!  I am glad I found out the sex so I could grieve for the loss of not having a daughter without it affecting my feelings towards my son.  It meant that I had no disappointment on his arrival and fell totally in love with him.

What is your age gap for your two?

Re: anyone from uk planning PGD?

There will only be 18 months between my two, we always said we wanted them to be close in age but i thought it wold take a little longer than it did! I will certainly be busy. When are you planning PGD? I would like to start at the end of next year but I guess in reality i'll just have to wait and see how I cope with my 2 boys first. I have rang around a few clinics and am so far swaying towards the Rainsbury Clinic as although it may be more expensive it seems fairly straight forward and it really helped to speak to an English lady who could answer all of my questions.

Reasearching IVF/PGD in 2010 too!  I'm worried that its going to be illegal everywhere by then.  Has anyone managed to find out how long you need to stay in Turkey or Russia if you have treatment there?

If you do the full treatment in the country (which has been recommended by people who have been through the process, especially Jinemed in Turkey) then it's about 3 weeks.

Hi I'm from UK & hoping to do PGD in 2009, I'm totally at the start & bit bewildered - found out I'm having DD2 despite swaying/praying and unwilling to take chances with next

I'll be 39 when I'm free to try again but I don't seem to have any problem with fertility yet [touch wood]

Is doing it all at 1 clinic, like Turkey, better than going thru a UK clinic [rainsbry] first?

Yes, that's the advice I have been given by people who have been through the process.

I've read a lot more posts since deciding today I need High tech, & I'm not as confused - except is PGD legal in Turkey or not?

Why would EU be against 'family balancing'?! It's not like we're all wanting DSs [Tho I amPray]
