Anyone know about IUI?

I am trying to conceive by just taking Clomid this time around.

With my DD I had a combo: IUI and Clomid. My DH wants to

just do Clomid. I think I might be wasting time and Clomid

cycles. Anyone know how effective IUIs are?

i did 2 iui cycles- one without clomid and one with clomid. i got pregnant on the 2nd cycle with clomid. that being said i think there is only something like a 16-18% chance of getting pregnant with iui- i may be wrong with my numbers, but it is not a very high %.

Like Mandy said, it's possible but the success rate is in the teens.

It depends on why you need an IUI.  Did you do IUI the first time because DH has sperm issues?  If he has decent sperm I would try clomid only first, because why waste money on an iui for what his sperm can do on its own?  And clomid is cheap.  But if his sperm can't do the job, or if the issue is you have really poor CM, or some reason like that that makes an IUI necessary, then that might be a different situation.  I think it depends on what your issue is.

I have poor cm issues, but have started taking FertileCM which

is working. I also have a cervix that is way to the left as I have

heard from my OBGYN and fertility specialist. As far as his

sperm count goes we were told it was sufficient for an IUI.

I unfortunately can't remember the actual sperm count. I

wonder if they would have kept a record of that?

they should have a record of his count. i also have very little cm- we had the hardest time getting pregnant on our own. dh count was also a little low so my doc just referred us to a specialist since we had been trying for 3 years. we had no trouble with this one or the last.
