So i had my appointment today and had another ultrasound, Baby is definantly a boy and a handsome little guy. I asked my doctor how long is the longest he will let me go past my due date and he said a week. I asked him if it was possible to induce the day after my due date, august 8th, that way the babys birthday can be 8/8/8. He said yes and i can be induced up to 10 days before my due date. Dh wants me to be induced at the end of july or august 1st. What do you ladies think? Should i wait to see if he comes on his own on august 7th and if he doesnt, induce on 8/8/8. Or should i induce sooner? Also at my next appointment i have the glucose test.uughhhhh

That would be really cool for your son's birthday to be on  8-8-08.  My best friend had a little girl last year on 7-7-07. 

As for the inducing, I think you should wait until you are closer to your due date and then decide. Who knows, the baby could come early on it own.  Plus, that way you will know how large the baby is and how you are feeling at that time.

I had to be induced with both of my boys.  They were not going to come out on their own.  They induced me with my first son a couple of days after his due date.  And he weighed 8lbs 4oz.  They induced my second son at 39 weeks because they didn't want me to have another 8lb baby.  I am a very tiny person.

Last time i was induced. I was induced 3 days after my due date and he was 8lbs 6oz. ouch!!! I will probably wait til my due date and then get induced.

I am really hoping to have my little guy on the 8th as well.  I think it would be a cool bday for baby # 8!

if you're ok with waiting, then I'd wait.  8/8/8 woudl be a cool birthday.  I wouldn't bother inducing early unless you really have a desire for the baby to arrive early. 

You ladies are right. I have been thinking alot about it and if i make it past my due date then i will induce on 8/8/8 but the only way i should have him before then is if he decides to come on his own. i wouldnt want to induce early and him not be ready yet.
