immediate ovulation ?

I have a 3 month old who I am nursing, and I am taking the mini pill. On Wed. we BD'd and Thursday night I realized I did not take my pill so I took 2. Today I noticed wet and stretchy CM. I also noticed an increase in my sex drive, which I noticed when I O'd and conceived my last son (has anyone else had this?). Could I be ovulating from missing 1 pill - and this soon after missing it? What should I do? Is there anyway to check to see if I am O'ing today? I of course do not want to be pregnant right now and I would have only had a 1 1/2 day cutoff, and I have not taken any supplements, etc. I wasn't planning on TTC a girl until spring. Does anyone have any thoughts as to my chances of conceiving? Am I just being paranoid because I forgot my pill, or is there a real chance that I am O'ing today?

Well, you hear stories of people who conceive after one missed pill but try not to concentrate too much on it. Either way, lets say that you did begin the ovulation process....you probably would have a good cut off since you just noticed it today. I can have the egg white getting more and more abundant for days before I ovulate. Being on the mini pill can change alot of what is going on with your body. Sometimes semen can appear like eggwhite especially the day after bding. So a lot can be going on here. Hope this helps.....

It is really hard for me to believe you could get pg from missing one pill. Granted I am not any bcp expert, but ovulation is not one isolated event, it is a whole process... a follicle grows, the egg matures, finally the egg is released, all of this regulated by hormones. This process did not begin because you were taking the pill (making your body think you're already pg, not sending the hormone signals needed to trigger all of these events), and I just can't see something that normally takes a week happening in one day. Just my take on it!

I missed the mini pill a few times in one cycle and i didnt get pregnant. I am extemely fertile and conceived both my dss in the first attempt no where near ovulation. So naturally i panicked when i realised that i had forgotten the mini pill so many times in one month. Anyway, i read somewhere that conceptions that accidentally occur while on the mini pill are mostly girls! I remember thinking of that to keep my spirits up when i thought i could have been pregnant from missing pills.

The reason forgotten mini pills resulted in more female pregnancies is because the mini pill causes the cm to be the non fertile hostile type that sperm cant survive in. (at least not the y sperm!)
