Please def not use north cyprus ivf clinic or Dogus clinic! I know people from the other board who went to Mexico but not succeeded with only Microsort but they did succeed with ivf/pgd/Microsort....But you better ask them because they know the best!

Hi!

I did one attempt at Microsort Mexico for a girl in March 2011. My husband's sperm count was good, motility etc all fine. I had 2 IUIs total, on the recommended days. Basically, Dr Rivera said to me that it is very difficult to get preganant because of the amount of sperm once they are sorted (first you half roughly half anyways, and then some die in the process). I have not been on ingender much this past year so I am not sure of the stats, but I think honestly, having done it, that it is a waste of money. Sorry to be a downer! Best of luck in your decision making!

We did Microsort IUI 4x in Mexico with no success.  Dr Rivera also told me they think the pregnancy rate with MS IUI is around 5-7% and so far hisi office has not had a single pregnancy from it. Nothing like a pep talk before you do the IUI! Confused Huh?

So we moved to IVF/PGD and ended up with several boys and ZERO normal girls to transfer (another $15,000 down the drain).

Now doing yet another IVF/PGD. If this cycle has similar bad results we'll just move onto swaying which is FREE!

I did MS and IVF in Guadalajara Mexico this last month. I am now 6 weeks pregnant.  I guess I had a 95% girl sort and I will officially find out for sure if it's a girl  in a month when I do CVS.  I went through Instituto Vida and had Dr. Perez Luna.  I really have all good things to say about my experience.  The clinic was so nice and I loved the city.  It cost $4000 plus meds for the IVF with no hidden costs and this includes freezing embryos for a year.  The MS portion is $1200. I have not heard of anyone getting pregnant with just MS/IUI in a long time because of the reasons you stated above.  Good luck on your journey.

Hi! We did Microsort here in the US during the clinical trial in 2009. Our sort was very high, DH sperm count perfect, etc and they told us we had a 92% chance of having a girl if I got pregnant. Well, that 8% is now sitting on my lap as I type this :) Yep. BOY #3 who is 2 years old now! He's a total spitfire so we joke that of COURSE his sperm was the one to push all those girls out of the way to get to the egg first! So for me it was a waste of money in terms of getting the girl we were hoping for, but mentally it helped me get over any gender disappointment because we had tried everything we were willing to try (IVF/PGD wasn't an option for us back then) and if we STILL ended up with a boy then I figured there's got to be a reason (maybe we make unhealthy girl embies or something) so I was OK moving on after that. I wouldn't do it again. If we want a girl we will try ivf/pgd next time.

Oh my goodness! I've always assumed the hardest part of Microsort is getting pregnant. Did you do the IUI or IVF?

I've never even heard of anyone not getting the proper gender with sorts so high. I suppose it theoretically can happen...WOW! You must have been shocked at the ultrasound. Surprise

Mine was with IUI. It's actually, unfortunately, pretty common to get the opposite gender with Microsort even with really high sorts although most sorts aren't as "pure" as ours was (that's just what I learned talking to the nurses, but this was during the trials so maybe it's different now?). We knew it was really just tilting the odds slightly in our favor but thought it was worth a shot since IVF/PGD seemed like too much (too much money, too many SHOTS, etc). I was definitely still really surprised at that 1st ultrasound though! It was at 12 weeks when I went in for my CVS and the ultrasound tech looked at the "nub" and said she was pretty sure it was a boy. So for a whole 12 weeks I thought I was carrying my daughter and even bought ONE hair bow (only allowed myself ONE just in case...) We definitely look at percentages differently now! When someone says "oh there's less than a 10% chance of you getting hurt from that" or whatever we just look at each other because we know what it's like to be in that group! It could always go the other way though and you could be in the group that gets whatever gender you are sorting for (although it works best when sorting for girls obviously). We would just never do it again...really it's not that different than just conceiving naturally except it makes it harder to get pregnant in the 1st place. The only high tech gender stuff we would do now is IVF with PGD to actually KNOW what the gender of the embies are. Our Dr. said his IVF/PGD for gender is 100% ( I know there can be lab mix ups or whatever but for him it's never happened and he's had a 100% track record...DH and I like 100%. We do NOT like 99%) lol
