I just wanted to take a minute to brag on boys
Today, I had a million errands to run and already had my two sons, plus my 10 year old's friend. Well, at the last minute, my sil called and asked if I could also watch her two boys. So that put me with two 10 year olds, one 5 year old, and two almost 3 year olds. I had to take all 5 into a hair salon and they behaved so wonderfully! Each sat down and waited patiently until it was time to go and they all got compliments from the stylists on how handsome they were and how well behaved they were being. I was one proud mom & aunt.
When we returned home the big boys watched the little boys (or entertained, anyway) so that I could get a little cleaning done.
We swam a little and the boys spent a large amount of time playing in the sandbox.
Then we made some homeade mini volacanoes with baking soda, vinegar, and food coloring: BIG HIT!
Finished it all off with pizza for dinner! Yum!
It was a great day all in all!
I know many of you have 5 or more kids everyday and that not every single day goes this well or this smoothly. Heck, there are days when I only have one of my kids and everything falls apart! I just wanted to post about how fun things can be when it all comes together (regardless of whether we have all boys, all girls, or mixed gender family)!
I do have to say that it is not rare that I have this many boys with me. I watch my nephews frequently as my sil is a single mom who works & attends college and my ten year old almost always has a friend or two over and I'm a sahm, so my two are always with me.
I just wanted to say that I find these times when I have all these boys around me so much fun! Boys really are wonderful, they play together so great and are very helpful. My son and his friends always offer to help me with the groceries and my 3 year old can often be heard saying, I love helping you, Mommy. I LOVE the little guys in my life, they melt my heart
Of course, I think girls are great, too! I just don't have any to brag on
