Hey Girls!

 I love reading all the info on your plans... I am getting so excited for our attempt!  I am all in the mode of trying to lower my, and DH ph... I would LOVE to be able to lower it more first, without having to insert a bunch of stuff and replens/etc...  though I will do those things if necessary! :)  Are you both drinking Crystal Lite...or something like it?  I just tried drinking some today for the first time and I felt so gross afterwards!!...it was the Great Value (wal-mart brand) of crystal lite...in strawberry flavor...so fake red and gross!! :(  Do you know if I can drink other flavors of it?...something with less coloring in it?? LOL ;)  Would a straight-up lemonade or pink lemonade work, do you think? 

I am still not sure if I should use replens or rephresh for our attempt... the replens I used the one time didn't lower my ph as much as I would have hoped :(  I was testing around 5.75-6 for ph before replens, and after it was only a bit lower... 5.5-5.75.. 

Do you girls think I should try a lime douche or tampon as well...beforehand to see what it does??  I am so unclear on how to mix that or go about doing any of that!?? ;)

Still in the information collecting phase myself! I thought I totally had my plan together, and then I read a post and another and before you know it, I am now convinced the TBM is the way to go!

As for the crystal light - yes, it's pretty gross. My insides are all shaky and I really think it's because of all the aspartame. I bought the big packets (quart size, I believe) of raspberry flavor and poured a few of them into a bottle of unsweetened cranberry juice. It's not THAT bad...super sweet, but tolerable.

I'd definitely check out everything beforehand to make sure it works well with your ph. That's my plan anyway!

So glad we all have each other to go on this journey with! :)

Thank you so much BeadinBabe!  I will try your crystal lite drink idea...mixed with cranberry...that does sound a little better maybe!...LOL :)

So I have a couple questions for anyone who might know...

First, is baltic amber jewerly good for ions?...whichever we need...negative, right??.. ;)  I hear about rose quartz and others...and also just was reading about a sway where the mom wore amber jewerly.  I have a couple necklaces already...but had not been wearing them because I wasn't sure what the affect was... any ideas??

Also, can someone tell me how I would go about trying a diluted lime douche?  I have read the faq on this like a hundred times...and my brain just can't get it! LOL!  Plus, I am not sure what lime to buy...and where... and how much to mix to make it a ph of 4-4.5???  Any thoughts for me would be so appreciated!!  I am going to try rephresh, replens, and the lime douch ahead of time if possible :)

BeadinBabe...I am also so glad that we are doing this together...and around the same time too! :)  Thank you for being so sweet... let's keep the ideas going!! :)

Another quick thought... is your husband taking a multi-vitamin in addition to the other supps?  I posted somewhere else saying that I realized that the multi he'd been taking recently had B12 and Zinc... 2 of the supps recommened on the boy diet... I am glad I noticed now... so I am not having him take those anymore... how about your DH?

 Hi ladies....found your thread and thought maybe I could join....DH and I are attempting to TTC a girl as well...I am on Atkins at this point and doing Zumba every day so it seems already in line with the IG diet although I am not drinking milk on it, I am eating the cheeses. I want to do the O+12 because I don't think I could catch 2-3 days before O so I am better off....plan on obstaining altogether until then in the hopes of a build up of XX swimmers. GOing to use OPKs as well and watch signs but that is all...any advice??

Hi everyone! I would like to join in on this post as I am also ttc pink in July!!! I have been stalking IG for months now and am very excited to put all this information to use!!! I am planning on doing diet, supplements, and start off with 1 attempt O + 12. My PH seems low to begin with 4-5 so I am reluctant to do any lime. I do get EWCM but that is why I am going for o + 12 bc after O it is always a dramatic shift to creamy. My cycle has been very regular 28 days exact with O smack dab in the middle. I hope that it stays on track. I recently got a humidifier for neg ions and a rose quartz rock that I will wear. I am a little concerned bc all summer my O dates fall just after the full moon and I don't really want to have to muck up my cycle. But Chinese gender says July and August are girl months for me and hopefully my O dates will make it into the moon in a girly sign. Does anyone else have full moon O dates? I am hoping the fact that summer months have more negative ions will balance it out.

Yay!  I love to see so may summer swayers!  It will be so much fun to see all of the attempts, then BFPs and hopefully lots of baby girls.

BeadinBabe - thanks for the links to the TBM sways.  I think even though TBM stands for turkey baster method it has come to mean any method where DH releases outside the body and then the stuff it put back in through syringe or diva cup.  I thought the praying4aprincess was very interesting because she used so much lime and replens and still got pregnant.  She did two attempts at O-2 and O+1 instead of O+12.  I have seen a lot of ladies say they don't get pregnant with lime but maybe the real problem is the O+12.  Something to think about.  I was actually thinking of trying more like O+8 if my cm seems creamy and the pH is low.  I keep reading timing is the least important factor so I'm thinking O+8 will still give me a good chance of pregnancy and I can use all of the TBM, lime douche or whatever I need to keep pH low.

Bexxie - Welcome!  Thanks for the link on Aci-jel.  Are you in the US?  Will you let us know when you get yours so we know it wasn't taken by customs.  I am definitely thinking of ordering it but will have to check w/ DH.  He is fine with swaying but is a little disturbed by the cost.

Booey - I've been making Crystal Light with water like the directions suggest and I actually really like it.  I first got peach mango green tea, today I bough peach tea and also pink lemonade.  My son really like the peach mango, he drank almost as much as me.  Too bad they don't make it with real sugar and we would continue to drink it even after the sway.  About the douche, the recipe is in the FAQ, it says to mix pure lime with distilled water until the pH of the mixture is 2.  I'm thinking of making it with a higher pH like 4 or 5 because lots of ladies say they don't get pregnant with lime.  You don't have to douche before dtd if your pH is 5 or lower.  I don't know about Amber but I'm going to order a rose quarts necklace off of amazon and a negative ion bracelet.  I'm going to have my DH just take the recommended supplements and not a multi vitamin, I'm not doing a multi vitamin either because I don't want to accidently take stuff off of the boy list.

Happy Medium and Lala - Welcome!  Yes, O+12 is the recommended timing but timing is the least important sway factor.  Tamara says the most important is diet, then hormones and pH, then supplements, ions, minerals and last is timing.  You can read all about the 7 sway factors in the FAQ section.  I would encourage you to read it all a couple of times because there is such wonderful information in there.

Doing the diet best I can, drinking CL, peppermint tea, chewing Extra gum, lots of water, decaf coffee....hope hormones will work with me, have pH sticks and going to use lemon to help acidity, taking A LOT of cranberry, so is DH, wooden spoon under the bed, lavender soap and lotion, prenatal and Magnesium supps.....then timing. Put it this way....on my father's side, I am the first girl born into his family since the 1600's...and DH's family has NO GIRLS born into it by his father's side either....WOWSERS! So we are hoping to change that with habits....I LOVE bananas and all things BOY so that makes sense because so does he...figures why we always make boys. Hope to change that in a few weeks...I am supposed to O on the 21st...NEW MOON!!!!! AAHH.... we will see though.I just came off of BCPs so I may O earlier...

Sounds like you are on the right track, Happy Medium.  My husband comes from a long line of boys as well.  We like all the boy foods too so it figures that we have all boys.  We're trying to change things up as well.  Have you checked pH for you and DH?  Ideal pH to get a girl is 4-4.5 for DW's cm and for DH's semen it should be 7-7.5.  Tamara says it is best to change pH with diet but if you need to lower it around BD you can do that with lime douche, represh or replens.  Just be sure to keep it low all the way from BD to ovulation if you are doing cut off and keep it low for a day or so if you are doing O+12.

 I plan on doing O+12 so I will do it when I see a positive OPK through a few days after to ensure acidity...AND I have a link of acidic foods here...which contradict some of the things in the IG diet, like yogurt..it says it is alkaline forming...I am referring to it while on Atkins to make sure I steer clear of Alkaline and alkaline forming foods and still be strict with my low carb/no sugar. THis is a first as well, because I am usually pigging out during TTC..LOL...this time I am losing baby weight to get down...I plan on watching what I eat this time too...don't want to gain a lot of weight and hope to keep my boobs from becoming Porno Spectacular. I am soooo stoked about trying...scared as well..because we were done after baby #4..I just can't get past the feeling that we are supposed to have one more.

Welcome HappyMedium and others! :)

I just wanted to say hi and that I am so excited to be talking to all of you during this time!  HappyMedium, I can totally relate with you about being done after #4 and still having that "longing feeling" for 1 more... we feel just the same!  I am more than blessed with beautiful, healthy little boys, but my DH and I both feel like there may be one more precious baby to be added to our family... and of course, so hoping and praying that it will be our little girl! :)

I am going to expierment with a lime douche as well as refresh pretty soon... I have tried replens already and so I am hoping to find the best way to keep our ph low during our attempt.  We are planning on a cut-off with abstainence before and I am following all the rest of the girl rules as best I can! :)

Oh, speaking of following the girl diet/rules... what do you all think about sharing the meals you are making these days??... I Know there is another post talking about the girl diet and ideas... but since we are going to be in contact with each other a lot coming up, let's encourage each other with food ideas and the best meals that we can eat on this diet!! LOL ;)  I totally love all "boy" foods as well and this diet is overall pretty tough! 

So, tonight I made the parsley chicken recipe from the cookbook and it was not a hit here :(  I put the chicken on the grill and it just was really lacking...

I have made the fajitas recipes with rice and that one is pretty good... haven't found any low sodium tortillas yet... has anyone else??

We have been doing well with quiche and pastas with cheese/white sauce/etc... green beans...etc. for dinners..

Which recipes are your favs so far?  Any good chicken ones on the grill??

Booey, have you tried Mrs. Dash yet?  Today I bought the original flavor and grilling chicken blend.  I haven't tried them yet but I thought the grill one would be a hit with everyone in my family.  We'll see?  I haven't found low sodium tortillas either.  Maybe people just mean the lowest of the four brands in the grocery store.  Although they all seem pretty high.  If anyone has found low sodium tortillas please tell us where.  Also, I thought it would be easy to find low sodium cheese but I haven't found that either.  Maybe a health food store?  I'm not really on the diet yet but I'm trying to gather the stuff and also savor my favorites a few more times.  Have you seen the ttc a boy cookbook?  It looks so yummy, no wonder I have 3 sonsConfused

I haven't looked for low sodium cheese or tortillas yet, but I may be talking my husband into a trip to Whole Foods this weekend! Will let you guys know what I find!

So let's discuss our favorite products...

I have found a new love (and it's probably not on the girl diet, which would totally be my luck!) it's strawberry kiwi Crystal Light mixed in cranberry juice. YUM!!!

I'm living on cottage cheese and yogurt lately. Although tonight we had Gordon's grilled tilapia. It really wasn't bad and all you do is pop it in the oven. Low sodium, low fat and only 80 calories.

Definitely going shopping for some Mrs. Dash soon, MountainViews! I miss my salt so much :( Do you know if we can use the lemon pepper Mrs. Dash?

I think any of the crystal light would be on the diet because it all has aspartame, right?  I think all of the Mrs. Dash are good for ttc a girl because they all say "salt free" on the front.  I hope Mrs. Dash is good, I'll let you know what my family thinks.  I found on the other sway site that sodium is the least important thing to limit and I was glad to hear that because I think that is the hardest thing to limit.  Sodium is in everything!  As long as we are talking food, why are crasins bad?  That's the only dried cranberries they sold at my store.  I looked at the package and there isn't anything in there except cranberries and sugar.  Does anyone know why the diet says "not craisins"?  I was thinking that cranberry sauce would be good, what does everyone else think of cranberry sauce?  My kids really like it and so do I so I'm hoping it will be an easy way to get in my cranberry.  Has anyone had problems with the cranberry pills making them gassy?  I know TMI!
