TTC a girl in Summer or Fall 2012

cowper - Thats awsome!  So I am guessing that you are near newcastle.  Here in Canberra it is cold all year long it seems.  Iaft's terrible!  So does your ph after getting a BFP matter?  Does it help predict gender?

Thanks Julia - I guess I just might have to try that as I get closer to O.  So if I've got this correct then I nned to put that tampon in 4 hrs after DTD.  But how long do I leave the tampon in for?    I dont have ph strips to test my ph but if I 4 parts water to 1 part lime/lemon then I am guessing that should do the trick.  You said that the ph on the douche was 2.5, isnt that too low?  I though that all the sperm wuld die under a ph of 4?

hi everyone wow this thread is getting hugeeee fx for all ladies trying to cc a girly , ok so i didnt sway with either of my first 2 sons just dtd loads , with third i did a bit of research and was planning to do the shettles method and a vinegar douche before dtd , but i didnt do anything else and i feel i rushed into it doing it without really knowing my cycle or anything, i dtd with 2 day cut off and douched with vinegar douce b4 but that was all and ended up with ds3 !! when i found out he was a boy by ultrasound i was devastated !! i cried my eyes out and felt terrible for feeling that way which made it worse but when he was born i fell in love the moment i saw him and wouldnt change any of my boys for anything , but as this is our last child i want to do EVERYTHING i can to try to sway for my princess as it would be a dream come true , i feel so much more confident this time as there is so much more to do, which is why i am going to try o+12 as shettles didnt work for me but i know it has for lots of people.

Ladies- Just a question about saw palmetto and B6. I know they are used to regulate a cycle, but I'm not sure how to use them etc. Saw palmetto helps with progesterone right? If anyone knows more on how to use them that would be great! I'd like to shorten my cycles which are seeming to be around the 40-45 day mark!

 Sew-- how adorable is your ds!! What a sweetheart! Other than the hcg numbers id ask him to book you for an u/s at 6-8 weeks to make sure baby is ok and in uterus. Also gives you side benefit of obsessing over the Ramzi theory lol. Are you not doing opk testing? How does FF have a different O date for you since you input that info? Could it be  you entered it on the wrong date?

So--the ph of the lime douche is that low, but once inside it combines with you and lowers your ph. For instance, after we did bd, i checked my ph at entrance of vj and it was 6. So i added lime douche and it went down to 4.5. You should try to get some ph strips, its an important part of swaying to make sure your  vj is more hospitable to xx sperm. They arent too expensive, i ordered some off ebay for $15.

Well, I think I may be out this month!! I am so upset!! I don't know what the heck is happening!! I am still waiting for a positive and now that I am on CD 15, I feel like I missed it! I don't know how! I have taken so many tests a day since CD 11 just don't understand anymore! This is NUTS!! I took my digi this morning again after taking it last night at 9pm.....NEGATIVE although now when I take the test out of the applicator the lines are lighter than they were yesterday morning. I have taken digital tests since Thurs morning!! It is now Sunday! I took a regulaer test on CD 11 which the line looked dark but not dark but not positive. Then the next morning I took a digi and no SURGE!! I really thought this would be easy......I have had O pains since so not sure what the heck is going on!! I should have had sex on Fri like my dh wanted!! I am so bummed!! My dh just said don't worry we can go next month! I just can't do this diet anymore!!!!!!!!

 Ponytails--Dont panic, i didnt get a pos opk til cd17, did bd on cd18. Im sure O is coming soon! Its diet and stress that can make it later..keep testing!!Thats great that your DH said you could try one more time next month, sounds like hes being more flexible and supportive for you so thats good too!

Yes, he is......not sure why!! Thanks for the support. This month is different. So, we went ahead and bd this am!! I know I could still O but DH was wanting to and I figured that it could still be a cut-off. I douched beforehand and then just went for it. I cant believe I have not O'd yet. I either already missed the surge or it hasn't happened yet. I do know that when it does its quick and tomorrow is Monday and our week is crazy so that is why I BD today. Maybe I shouldn't have but I know if O is still coming its in the next day or so!! I hope at least!! Never O'd later than that ever!! I hope I didn't miss it though!!

Sew funny you have been getting dizzy cause I have been dizzy the past days. No morning sickness but have had a little bit of nausea in the afternoon. At least the cramps are gone. Good luck tomorrow with your test, just bring your 5 hpt's then they will know you aren't crazy :) LTB I was considering taking B6 to shorten cycles but my next one was shorter so I never did. Be careful about Saw Palmetto seems like that could mess up your cycle also or so I have read. Ponytails your O is probably just a few days late, I agree swaying can mess up your cycles. Doing your attempt today was smart cause you don't want to miss it!

I'm really starting to think my sway might have been pretty crappy if FF is right about when I Oed. I thought I Oed on cycle day 15, then did O+12. All the signs lined up I thought. I couldn't keep checking CM afterwards because it seems like EWCM when there's sperm in there. I did check the PH of course.... and had trouble lowering it. But according to FF that was a 2 day cutoff, and I didn't at all worry about keeping PH low after I went to bed, since it was O+12 I thought! Then we DTD 2 days later.... and that's the day FF says I Oed. I didn't worry about the Big O at all, since I was supposed to be infertile.... and didn't check PH before or after.... did nothing at all to keep it low and that was possibly ON O day! Yikes. How screwed am I? And now I have this baby and I don't know if it's sticking and I don't know what my odds are of it being a girl... it's all so stressful. I wish I had started using FF sooner. If this baby isn't sticky at least I'll have that for next time.... but I want this baby to stick! Even if it's a boy, obviously. 

 

Please everybody still TTC read Sew's post!!! Just because the OPK is pos does NOT mean you will 100% O 24 hours later!!!!!! The body can gear up to O and then delay it for days!!!!!! It happened to me at least once maybe even two times! You have to check all the other signs and watch for the temp shift (this is the ONLY sure sign that O is over!!!!!!!!!). I was too relying on that pos OPK - Wrong!!! My cycles were totally regular and then the longer I was on the diet the more unreliable they got!!!! Don't repeat our mistakes!

 

thanks ladies! I think this swaying really messes with our cycles for sure! I've got more signs that O has yet to come as well! Hang in there Ponytails, the chance that you've missed it is low I'd think!

I agree Julia, O +12 can be tough to pinpoint. I didn't temp but my cervical changes were textbook so I relied on that more than anything else. The positive OPK was more of an idea of when we might dtd but the cervical changes were key for me. I didn't do O+12 this cycle I got my BFP but last cycle. Also I recommended not douching after you get the positive just cause it changes your cm. Good luck everyone!

Hey Ladies- I mentioned earlier this week that I was having some kidney type pains. Well I read the cranberry pills bottle and it says do not use if you have a history of kidney stones. I haven't ever had them but my father has. I haven't had any other pains but just wanted to pass the info on incase anyone else starts to experience the pains. I'm going to have to take it easy on the pills.
