Positive fetal fibronectin test at 32 weeks

Has anyone had a positive (fFn) fetal fibronectin test at 32 weeks?.. if so was your baby born early or on time? I had the test done yesterday at 32 weeks and got a phone call today from my Dr saying that the test came back positive. I have to go next week to get steroid shots for the baby and an ultrasound to measure the length of my cervix. I would love to hear other ladies experiences with this.. TIA

Never had that test done but I hope your baby is not too early. Were your other 3 kids early? What were the signs you were having that promoted them to give you this test?

Thanks hun.. all my girls were born at 39 weeks.. I had been having contractions the last few weeks so that's why they did the test for me

mine did. but i took the steroid shots and i managed to keep her in until exactly 37 weeks. she was a healthy 7lbs 14ounces though. do the shots. they are oil based so you may get knots in your hips and they are very slow going in. im taking them again this time. good luck

Yes I had a positive result at 29 wks with my last baby (didn't do the test with the others) and I ended up delivering at 33 wks. All of my babies come early though (31 wks, 35 wks and 33 wks). My doc said a positive result doesn;t neccesarily mean you will go into labor, there's just an increased chance. Also you could have a positive test followed by a neg the following week. Thank you so much for sharing your experience hun.. I had a ultrasound yesterday and everything looked good.. but they are still giving me the steroids for baby just in case.. I was 33 weeks yesterday so I'm getting more comfortable now as far as if he did come early but hopefully he will hold out for a little while longer

The contractions are still on and off but the Dr gave me some medicine to stop them if I have more than 4 within an hour.. so that's working for now :)

my test just came back positive. im already contracting only 25 weeks, im dialted to 3cm. very scared. but i started mag. and steroids. hope he can stay in until 28 weeks
