I agree with Nini, just don't test ph after. I would keep it down by aspartame (CL, sprite zero, diet coke etc) & the sudafed for 24hrs after dtd. I never douched, I don't think it's needed when doing O+12 because our bodies are at its lowest ph naturally hence why I think the method works.....also I din't diet really, just upped calcium intake & took the supps on the first page xx

Thank you! I still have lots of time, just trying to figure out my plan and be ready when that window arrives. I have never charted,tested ph, temped, or anything, so it will be very new to me so I know I will have many questions. With my first son, we were so anxious to get preg I bought the cheapo OPK strips, and the second I saw the surge and line turn dark, we BD that day, and every day after that. So I know I won't be able to do that!

Bequita - thank you so much for all your help! I, like some others, are new to IG and to the idea of O+12, and you really helped to raise my confidence level. I started out wanting to sway pink with Shettles, but after almost 9 month of charting, temping, and all that which gave me NO insight, I turned to O+12. I have a DS who is 2 yo, and we BD only once the month I got PG with him. So planning on using O+12 with FR for DH, only b/c of Tamara saying to do opposite in FAQ. Also, will have to alter OPK test times because I work 4am-1pm. Would like your opinion and any advice you might have! Oh, and also some pink dust ;) Thanks again!!

My pleasure, glad it helped you, there's an awful lot to take in. Take your Opks fro 3am (or whatever time you get up at with FMU using digitals) & space them out every 4/5hrs or so until your bedtime. Remember for DH to FR outside of you (use a condom if dtd) good luck xxx

Hi ladies,Im actually a bit preplexed regarding the jump and dump after bd versus putting pillow under hips and laying there for 30 minutes for ttc a girl. I always read that we should BD missionary,no big O,and run to toilet and jump and dump. Now Im reading we should keep hips elevated? i thought elevated hips r for ttc a boy...hmmmmm... some help plz ladies

Youre right to say bd missionary & no big O but I think J&D is an OWT & just makes it take longer to catch preg. I personally did the pillow under hips because I don't think J&D has any benefit in selecting gender sperm. Do what is best for you then if you get an opposite from your sway, you won't feel too sad!  Okay...not to sound stupid...but I read that DH should not ejaculate at all to build up the supply of XX sperm..so is the point of O+12 to ensure that XX sperm find the egg after a shallow ejaculate.? I don't mean to sound so stupid...

Hi Bequita. I just wanted to thank you for this well written explanation. Very easy to understand, I have been trying now for 15 months and any help is much appreciated. I would be very grateful if you could just answer a couple of questions for me. We have been abstaining for 7+days, but as DH is 51 I think FR will be better. Is this for the whole cycle or just few wks before OV? Also I live in UK. Any ideas where I can get equivalent crystal light? Finally do you agree that lime douche and tampax can lower your chance of conceiving as my ph is only around 5-6. I can't seem to get it any lower and so always lime after attempt every 30 mins. I wonder if this is affecting my chance of BFP. Thanks for your time.

Don't worry, silly questions need to be asked, & no question is silly! Get your DH to abstain or FR will lower sperm count = more x sperm. At O+12 Ov is nearly over so our cm is more hostile which favours X sperm. (Our ph is naturally lower & Y sperm is likely to die off because of this so the X sperm is at an advantage) That's all it is x
