familiesr4ever ~ sorry I was wrapped in my own pity, I didn't see your post in its entirety. I'm sorry you got 2, but it only takes 1!!! I'm kicking myself now for not only doing a gender panel and taking all boys no matter what!

tinksmagic - I missed the details of your cycle. What did you test for? My first cycle I did 9 probe (which is unheard of now), and my second cycle I did 3 probe (which I was very happy with). Turns out none of my embryos had down syndrome, but I was glad I knew that for sure. Did any of your embryos test postive for down syndrome? If they did, I would probably choose 3 probe if I were you.

Cycle #1 MS/IVF/PGD (June 2007) - SIRM, St. Louis - No transfer (all 6 embryos abnormal and all Baby Boy ) - 84% Baby Girl sort. yes, that is correct - all boys when I sorted for a girl. I was devastated.

In a nutshell, we went rounds with the clinic on our panel. They wanted to do a 24 panel at Genesis, but after reading and talking with women on each forum, it was found that Genesis has a very low success rate and are high on inaccuracies. I wanted GSN in CA, who our clinic works with, but won't, so I decided to do a 5 panel test on day 3 at Reprogenics in New Jersey again (same as 2 years ago). I don't think they offer 3 panel there, no one said they did. We tested for boy, girl, 13, 18, and 21. Each cycle we were clear of 21, but last cycle 13 and 18 were issues and this cycle just 18. I wish I had only done 3 probe, then I may have been able to take the other 3 boys which may have been fine.

I don't know what the problem with this cycle is at all. I just called Mass General (they won't do gender, boo hiss) but we'll be working with a genetic doctor to get to the bottom of our problem. If they won't do gender, perhaps we'll at least be able to find out what chromosome IS the problem. It may take us 2 more cycles...

Still praying for a miracle!!!

I'm so sorry tinksmagic. What a crazy back and forth with the er/doctor/clinic you are going thru. I'm glad you're watching, waiting & praying instead of just jumping right away to D&C. Dr's tend to prescribe the D&C too quick and too soon imho and you just never know what can happen.

I'm confused why you are regretting doing the 5 probe. Weren't the other boys abnormal in the 5 probe & isn't it good you won't waste time with FET with them? Is the 5 probe giving false results instead of 2 probe?

Just looked on their website and they do 3, 5, 9, and 12 probes, but they do not offer only 2.

tinksmagic - still praying for a miracle for you. When is your next u/s? Fri? The fact that you haven't miscarried yet seems very positive. If you do have to cycle again, where do you think you will go now that you found out Mass General won't do gender selection.

A 3 panel was not offered to us, it may be clinic specific? I would have done a 3 panel and taken the chances. I had to discard 3 boys this cycle :(

We're going to use Mass General to get to the bottom of what the problem is before I commit to another cycle, no matter where we end up, I am running out of time as I'll be 41 in 2 months. As for this cycle, I really do need a miracle. Yes, my next u/s is late in the day on Friday. I am wondering if I haven't m/c'd yet due to that I'm still taking the progesterone? Not sure. I do know I still feel pregnant and have all the symptoms (could also be the progesterone), and my hCG levels continue to rise (normal too even with bo), I'm hoping that there's a baby hiding due to the fact I have a tilted uterus, but we'll see... I've had very minimal cramping mostly when I stress out, but the only pain I have is from my ovaries and the cysts.

I'll let everyone know how it goes Friday!

Thank you, Janet. I have 2 more holes in my heart. Only 1mm growth today, been moved to a "missed miscarriage" and continue to wait. Next scan will be Thursday if I make it. Was really hoping for a miracle. Funny cuz now both sacs have a wide white "halo" glow around them. But #1 is only filled with membranes and #2 is still empty.
