TMPOB said boy, gave birth to daughter yesterday

I took this test last summer and was really sad to find out that I was expecting another boy - I have two sons already. I called the company at the time to check my results and they assured me it was without doubt a boy, no contamination, very clear result etc. And I stupidly believed them. Felt depressed throughout my pregnancy, as I have always desperately wanted a daughter and knew that this little boy would be my last child. They wouldn't tell me the sex at the 20 week scan - not the policy at my hospital (in the UK) and I decided not to have a private gender scan as I was convinced it would show boy. Gave birth to my little girl yesterday. So ecstatic, can hardly believe it's true! She is gorgeous. But I am so, so angry about this rubbish test, it should be taken off the market immediately. Too many people get the wrong results. I don't believe it's anywhere near 98% accurate. It ruined my pregnancy for me. Has anyone in the UK managed to get their money back on it? DNA Worldwide in the UK, who I bought it from, no longer sell it (because it's a load of crap, I assume). Do you need to go through them still or go straight to the US company? And do you need evidence of the results they gave you because I just got an email/website code which is now deleted - or do you just tell them your name and they have a record of the results? Thanks everyone, and anyone still thinking about using this test, please please don't even consider it.

I have not taken this test but alot of the girls on here did and almost all of them got false results, its a scam!!!!!

Your story is identical to mine!  I also have 2 boys and was hoping for a girl for our last child.  The test showed positively, boy for me as well....and I believed it too.  I was so saddened to think I wouldn't have my girl, but my 20 week scan confirmed girl, and I made them do another at 26 weeks just to really make sure and it also showed a little girl for me.  I HATE that test and it was the worst thing I could have ever done.  They do have your results, but to get your money back, you will need to send them a  copy of the birth certificate, or hospital documentation showing what you had.  The number to call is on the website.  Congratulations on your little girl and enjoy your family!

You must be beside yourself now, you're ultimate dream come true, you are one lucky girl.

I'm glad I heard this was a scam or I might have wasted my money.

Thank you for posting this Bex! I am certainly not going to be going for any of these tests.  The only sure fire way of finding out is by scan and your story will keep me rigidly focused on that fact when I get pg! Congratulations on your lovely little girl! What a dream come true! It's just such a shame it ruined your pg.  Good luck with getting a refund.  Enjoy your princess xx

Thanks for your lovely messages Lucky Star and Jodie, I AM totally over the moon with my little girl and can't believe how lucky I am! I always believed I was destined to have boys - and everyone said that my third was a boy too - due to the way I was carrying etc. I honestly thought there was no chance I'd have a girl. So really good luck to you both! xx

So sorry this test ruined what should have been a happy pregnancy; at least you had a happy outcome, it is so devastating for women who get the news the want to hear, then find out later that it was a lie.
