Goodbye :(

The funding didn't go through for our IVF/PGD, so now I am out of the game. It just didn't make sense we had the funding now they are saying they are unable to approve it at this time. I was so happy and excited to finally start my journey for my baby girl. Now all I can do is just cry at the lost hope. I hope you all have great cycles and get your dg! I still do not know what I am going to do. [:'(] I am sorry. I am just sooo sad right now.

I am so sorry, candi. Is there no way you could fund it yourself? Its so hard to let go of the dream.

It is very hard to let go of the dream. We were counting on the loan that we were approved for, for this journey. They approved it, but now all of a sudden they said they were unable to approve the loan at this time and are not changing their mind. The only way we would be able to do this was to count on a monthly payment. It will takes us 5plus years to save up.

 

Go to Mexico, read Karma4Tatum's post its under yours Guadalajara Mexico is what its called, she has some other posts too, but its about $7000- for everything, but you also have to travel there too, but stuff is cheeper in Mexico. Also the 7000 includes Meds IVF PGD and Microsort. I know its still well take some saving but hopefully not 5 years. I was actually planing on Mexico first because I thought it was a lot cheeper but then I found HRC and it was the same as the place in Mexico I was going to go, then I planned on HRC in Cali (Dr Potter), but then I didnt feel very good about HRC I was still going to go to cali. anyways though. Then I started emailing the Dr that Karmas going to go to, and he is wonderful he answers all his own emails and fast and is very honest and straight forward. I have a good feeling about him and well Karmas there right now and says she likes him even better in person. Mexico isnt how you think it is, sure some parts are but there are big cities and musems. A lot of the Dr in mexico travel and do it in the states or europe to besides Mexico. Something to look into, check out her posts she gave the Dr's email address!!! Just an idea!!

Gottohaveumboth - Thank you for the suggestion. I will have to look into that. I am wonder if after the travel expenses and passport etc.. would it just end up being the same price as one cycle here in the us? It is also going to be really hard for dh to get time off of work. The company he works for is really strict on when you take you vacation time. They might not let him take his 2 weeks together. I will just have to figure it out. We already have half of the price saved up for that place if that really includes everything.

Hey candi, it's Karma...the total cost for me for IVF/PGD2/MS is 10,500 when I factored in all procedures, medication, hotel, airfare..everything literally. It's been a great experience..check out my posts "Guadalajara and MS" and I think "Mexico here I come" something like that. Your husband can have his sample frozen at any time also... He could come for a few days. Slightly better to do a fresh one but not by much. My husband is here for 8 days with me. The rest I'm on my own. It's been a nice distraction to be here while going through this. Hope that helps as far as giving you other ideas of what is out there...good luck.

Thank you so much Karma. That would be the same price as one fresh and one frozen cycle at the clinic I was going to go to. Only you still have PGD and medication costs. So I guess it would still be $8,500 cheaper! Hopefully it won't take long to save up that much. Than I will have to check out that route. How are things going for you so far? How long do you have to be in Mexico for?

Sounds good..so far pretty good. I'll know a lot more tomorrow since ER is tomorrow. Went to MS today with DH for his part, takes about 7 hours for them to sort. Sounds like she has great #s though 93% for girl sort on avg. I'm going to post about today so if you' re interested keep an eye out. I am here a little longer than I thought but we' re staying for $50 a night. My DH is here for a week and me for 2 1/2. I was a slower responder so that added a couple days, was supposed to be 2 wks. I so hope I have more embryos from ER tomorrow. He sounds hopeful... Anywhere from 3-6.., he said let's hope it's 5-6. Good luck on your journey..it comes together.

I am glad everything is going good so far. Is Mexico scary? I would be a nervous wreck going myself and how I was going to get to places. Do most of the people speak English also? 5-6 eggs is good if your doing microsort with it. That is the thing with doing the cycle in the US if you have 5 eggs and no microsort your worried how many will make it and if they will all be boys! I would be so much more relaxed doing microsort knowing i will mostly get all girls. I will keep an eye out for your update!
