Not sure why this would happen now

I have 3 children, every on of my kids was concieved first try...hubby and i decided to go for one last child, I got my LMP on july 22 was set to ovulate on August 5th....we dtd on the 4th and 5th...problem was I had no ewcm and was conceredn at the time i didn't ovulate...I AM CLOCKWORK regular, and always have been.....until this month ...the month i wanted to concieve...i did get what i thought was o pain on the 5th but it lasted until the 16th when i got my PERIOD....NO BABY and i got my peried 4 days Early..I just dont understand why of all months i would get my period before I was due...im not and never have been irregular...i can set my phone to almost the hour my period is due.no joke...so now I am not sure when i will ovulate next month..i also had pain accumpanied with nausea..bad..i did get really bad news regarding my grandfather having an incurable cancer, and i have been very devastated by the news...i wonder if that could have messed with my cycle...I would like to try again this cycle but i don't know how to go about charting ovulation now that my period came early....help

Stress can play a HUGE role in women's cycles. It's interesting because I've been charting my fertility for about 5 years. You can see times when turmoil were going on because my cycles went wacko. During times of peace, my charts were text book. Hope that helps. Remember, best clue to ovulation is EWCM!

I agree with MsFitChick that stress can mess your cycle up so easly. It happens to me all the time if I stress too much. I'm trying to keep my stress levels down cause we are trying to TTC next month. Good luck to you ladies!

Thanks not much i can do about the stress, Im very upset about my grandfather having cancer, i don't think its going to ease up either, he is only getting sicker, my question now is do i still follow my 28 /14 cycle or am i now a 26/14 ..or maybe something else...i was soo clockwork every 28 days period, day 14, ovulate, ..im lost now

What I would suggest is following your body's pattern at this point. Stress can make things too unpredictable. If you have the wet slippery feeling and eggwhite fluids, it's a very good indicator to BD- those are your best bets. Listen to your body... I know it's kind of vague but it's the best source right now.

I had a cycle that was 45 days long because of stress... there's no way I could tell besides the fluids my body made and fertility signs it gave me.
