After going into labor in the middle of the night prior to booked c-section with the first 2 babies, I finally actually made it to my scheduled date. It was my OB's first day back from a 2 week vacation, so I was terrified all last week that I'd go into labor and he wouldn't be here!
Natalie Isabella was born at 4:23 pm, Monday July 25th. She weighed 7 lbs 10 oz and is very cute, if I do say so myself.
apart from about 20 minutes or so while they were completing my OR and stitching me up, I got to do lots of skin to skin in the OR room. She went back to skin to skin as soon as I got to recovery, and she's beginning to feed well - she latched herself on like a pro several times - totally night and day from our experience with DS - it's so awesome when things work as they're supposed to!! She's a bit mucousy from the c/s, but otherwise perfect. Very peaceful in her bassinet right now.
I"m in a semi-private (luckily, they're fairly quiet) but will hopefully be moved to a private tomorrow. I'm feelling quite good - the nurse said that I was moving like a woman who's had a vag. delivery, when I transferred from the recovery room bed to my current bed (all by myself!). lets hope that continues!
