I'm having my first DS and loved Pampers Swaddlers with my two DDs. I am weary of them after the chemical burn thing and I also hear they're not good on boys? I've grown to love Target and Walmart brand diapers since. I have not tried Luvs but heard good things. I wanted to stash a bit of each size before baby comes because it's the easiest financially for us... so here's my question. What diapers work(ed) best on your boy(s)? I've heard a lot say Huggies, a few Luvs, not many Pampers. I hated Huggies with my girls so I'm sort of reluctant to get them. They seemed to break a lot. If they work better for boys then by all means, I'll get them. I just need some more opinions! I'm open to any brands but prefer the least costly. Maybe Costco? Never tried those. I'm stumped!!!

I own a childcare business and honestly I have not noticed a difference between diaper brands and girls vs. boys.  I think it's what your preference is and what size baby you have.  I thought Huggies were too big for my smaller boys and I love the softness of pampers so that is what we have used for our 2 boys and haven't had any complaints.  Store brand diapers aren't bad but if you shop sales and use coupons you can get name brands for the same price or less.  Babies R Us now has their rewards program where you get a free box of diapers after buying 10, I think, which is a $45 value.  I only buy diapers when they are having their $10 or $15 gift card with purchase sale on Pampers and then use manufacturer coupons as well and it is such a better deal.  If you end up buying more than you need you can always exchange a box for a bigger size as long as it isn't opened.  Hope that helps!

That does help, a lot! Thanks so much!! I'm pretty sure my boy will be average to chunky. DH and I are 6'6 and 5'11 and our DD's were about 8 and 9 pounds. I figure DS will be somewhere around there or bigger.

I used swaddlers with all three of my sons and had no problem. But I never tried any other brand of diaper until age 2 when I switched to the target brand which is just ok imo.

Diapers are so funny - you would think there would be one brand that everyone would prefer but everyone seems to have their own preference.  We have friends that swore by those Up n Up Target diapers and would buy them one size bigger.  We tried them and hated them.  We have been using Pampers religiously since birth with Huggies Overnights at night since about 6 months.  I think we use the cruisers now but we really likes those Swaddlers.  They are so soft and they have this neat little net insert which keeps the poopoo trapped off his bum.  Diapers have really not been a big thing for us - he rarely has siaper rash and rarely has blow outs.  He goes through only 3 regular diapers a day and one overnight.  The Pampers are super absorbant.  I can't remember how many he used to go through but we were typical rookie parents and we changed him every five minutes when he was new.  :) AL

We buy all our baby stuff using Amazon prime.  Super cheap!  My hubby is a coupon clipper and he made sure that was the best deal.  We have them shipped on a regular schedule.  Very convenient.  We bought the Earths Best formula there and we get our diaper genie refills there too.

Thanks all!! I'm thinking I'll stick with the sensitive pampers swaddlers we loved until he's older and then go cheapies. If they don't work out I'll just send the rest of the bag to Alsestis' baby girl, lol!
