Charliecats is still here on IG as a forum leader - but I think she must have had her twins hence her absence

I would LOVE to be online, but to be honest, I barely have time to wipe my butt, let alone be online right now. The twins are taking up all my time right now--we have had some big issues with weight gain, and trying to get them to BF better. Which is still a struggle. Tack on lack of sleep, and 3 other kids, and I am pooched right now. Sorry guys. I try to check in once a day, and see if anything needs deleting, but that is about my limit of abilities at the moment.

As for adding FL's, we have repeatedly asked M for new FL's. This goes back 6 mos. Grits was added at the cusp of Maureen being here/not being here. We have been unable to contact Maureen for months. No FL has any ability to ban people, or add Golds, or refund money, as much as we would LOVE to do all these things. We have asked for those responsibilities, but nada. I did text Maureen last night 3 times to get the GD troll banned, and thankfully, it appears that troll was deactivated.

Anyway, I understand everyone's frustration. I wish there was an easy answer.

Now, back to BFing. Twins are really hard. Just FYI. A singleton would be a cakewalk right now.

Your babies are most important. As I told Gus... in the pm I think you are an amazing FL!!!!! & even looking at you now still on after just had twins I don't know how you do it. You have always been someone I admire IG is so very lucky to have you

We *all* need a break sometimes -- members, FLs and even the site owner it seems. We *all* should give priority to our *real life* health and wellness over the concerns of an Internet messageboard.

I have *always* been around to sticky, edit and delete as requested and have always done so as soon as I could.

One option IS to complain about the situation.  Another option is to do something about a bad situation.  That is what I did.  When your Gold Membership runs out, maybe you will feel different.

Gold is broken, there is no money in the paypal account to be able to refund anyone's money if they dispute the charges and as a site leader, that is so not cool.

I just took the initiative and did something about it.  I don't recruit from here but if people want advice and support, we are all happy to provide it again.

My email address IS allowed and anyone that cares to email me may do so.

Yup so did I, couldn't have said it better :). I always thought the FLs did a good job on IG, and it's definitely hard and impractical to live on the Internet. It's unfortunate that M isn't able to fix the issues yet so I think we are all scrambling around trying to do our best since everyone loved what IG provided.

Maybe the FLs have things going on in their lives that prevent them from sitting on the computer for hours until the site finally starts working well enough to moderate or post for a few minutes.

Some FLs have left and there is nothing wrong with that at all. I know some of the FLs and they are the most amazing wonderful women so I'm not saying this to be mean. ***The other day a troll came out on a forum that has a FL that's no longer around. This troll told the poster (who's baby was about to be born and die) that she can't wait for her b****k n****t to die. The troll also had a huge racist rant toward to poster. It was disgusting!! I'm sorry I reported it straight away asking for it it to please be taken down now now now. It was one of the worst posts I have seen on IG and I've been here awhile and seen a lot. FLs are not forced to be a FL. If they take on the roll as a FL then it would be nice if they were here.   

I'm not talking about trolls, I'm talking about stuff that isn't a huge deal, like mentioning other sites. I understand that it is against the rules, but it's not something that I think FLs should drop everything they are doing to come delete ASAP. Also, sometimes the site works for some people and not others, so a Fl may have been trying to delete the troll post, but couldn't get things to work long enough to do is quickly. Bottom line, the only thing you can do is trying to contact Maureen and get her to fix the problem. Yes, the site may need FLs, but the site needs a lot of things, and the only person who can take care of that is Maureen.

I was just giving one example of why it would be nice to have SOME new active FLs. Mentioning IG copied sites is not a huge deal but it is against IG rules. I understand some FLs want these site names left up and that understandable since some of IG FLs are FLs on a IG copied site and that's fine they are there. I'll be honest it make reporting posts uncomfortable. No one expects FLs to drop everything to moderate posts that aren't a huge deal like copied site names but there are FL that want those site names reported as inappropriate. The troll posts were taken care of quickly, the active FLs did an awesome job with deleting that troll. Sometimes when posts are reported as inappropriate the monkeys eat it and it's hard to know if the report went though which is why when that happens & if someone reports it again it's good to mention that is why one is reporting it again.

I know the monkeys are very bad. I get them with almost every post & with a lot of the threads I open. It's not just normal members that get the monkey & not just the FLs that get the monkeys. Everyone gets them.

I do agree with that. I hope Maureen will one day be able to fix IG. Until then I will continue to hope and pray that whatever is happening in her life that she and her family are ok.  

 

If the constant monkeys and error can't drive me away then losing my Gold won't either. Most of my posts are not in Gold anyway. Sure it will suck when I don't have it but no I won't feel differently. I will just provide an email address as that is allowed. I am extremely dedicated to IG as I feel I owe Maureen so so so much. I can't even begin to describe what this site has done for me and I will be eternally grateful to Maureen. That is just me though and I can't help the way I feel. No one should be made to feel guilty for being an active member on here and spending their time here. There is nothing wrong with us discussing how nice it would be to get SOME new active FLs.

Sure, but there is also nothing wrong with moving on to other sites because this one no longer works. I honestly don't even see what's wrong with letting people know there are other sites. Ingender helped you, but it isn't working well anymore, and I think others deserve the same help, even if it's from another site. This site has not been very helpful lately. You have every right to discuss wanting new forum leaders, but the truth is that a) discussing it doesn't help because there is nothing any of us can do, and b) even if there were more FLs, it may not make a difference because they often can't do their jobs because of all the errors.

I don't remember anyone ever saying people are not allowed to go to other sites?? People can find those sites (new & old IG copied sites) the same way IG is found, Google about gender selection, swaying, GD etc. This site is full of discussions and yes it might not help but if we would like to discuss it we can. Grits was added when Maureen was MIA so you just never know.

The last few weeks have been very helpful for me, as I wrote on another thread. If it wasn't for the last few weeks on IG I wouldn't be having a batching cycle like I am now.

For the record, 3forme, I am a moderator on several boards, not just these gender selection boards. Quite frankly, what I do when I'm not on IG is really nobody's business but mine. My role on another site has NO impact on my role here and never has. I don't like to delete the names of other sites because when I do *MY INTEGRITY* is questioned, just as you question my integrity when I don't do so immediately (because my life involves more than just sitting on the Internet 24/7, not because I want to leave the names to push traffic to those sites).

NPB and Liz are smart business women and they can find effective ways to grow their sites that don't involve me. The implication that I want the names to stay is offending. I've always been fair and balanced and that is one of the reasons I was asked to be a FL.

The hostility is unwarranted. And unkind.

And again I don't remember saying you or any FL must live on IG 24/7 and not be allowed to go to other sites or move on from IG. There are loads and loads of sites on the net, nothing wrong with being on many. I'm not sure where I wrote that people must only be on IG, I really don't remember writing that. I apologise if I wrote people must only be on IG. I don't remember writing Grits wants to push traffic to the other sites. I thought I wrote some FLs want the site names left up. I don't remember writing it was to push traffic to other sites. Where did I write that? I apologise if that's what I wrote.

Again I don't remember saying you must delete immediately. There are not many active FLs on IG (& when I write this on IG it means the entire IG, not Microsort and PGD) anymore so some post take time to edit. Not many FLs can delete on all forums so that makes it difficult for FLs. My saying it would be nice to get some new FLs is for all over the site.

Yes I agree with you. Anyone who has their own site is a good business person.

There are some FLs that want the IG copied sites names left up and some FLs that want the names removed. I honestly don't remember writing Grits wants the names left up to push traffic. If I did I do apologise. I was told to report stuff by more than one FL so that's what I will do. There is nothing I can do about feeling uncomfortable with reporting posts all over IG from anything like trolls or someone bullying a poster on the GD forum, it wouldn't matter if the fls were on the new or old copied sites.

 

I have been here almost 5 years and very very rarely get involved in discussion like this. I have said how awesome some of the FLs are and as I said some have left the site so I can't say all so I write some and AGAIN there is nothing wrong with leaving this site. The hostility can come from more than one side.
