TTC Girly Girl in January

Dh was on call for Christmas Day after being on nights, so he released in the afternoon, and we did our cut off that night at 22:30 . DH had lavender bath with the children at 20:30, I did not as I found that baths made my pH rise !!!! I did a warmed lime juice , pH of  2  then, 2 hours before our BD. I also took  a Sudafed tab. I had a hot shower after the children were in bed , took another Sudafed, used Sylk at every BD, DH  released every day from AF to O , though never inside until cut off. I used lavender cream after the shower too. My Ph was 4.3. Then Bd, had lighted Salt Rock lamp beside the bed !! Missionary and shallow. No accidents getting from shower to bed this time !!!! Kept hips propped for 30 mins and then J & D. Used Replens after as I felt that the lime was killing everything and wanted to give the swimmers a fighting chance !!!!!! 

can i ask u hun did u always do the lime 2 hrs before n did u use relens this mth for the follow up douche? i cant get the imagie out of my head that everytime i use the 1/3 ml lime 5 min after bed that im killing everything off.... this mth i didnt have to douch as ph was low before bed n after it was 6... so i did the small douche n again this morn as ph was 6 again.... if im not pg this mth ill be doing what u did aswell/.... oh n was this the first mth u added the cutoff? so did u get a pos n bed that night being ur cut off?

Just popped back in to recommend cucumbers sliced and peeled in greek yogurt. Very yummy although you could eat the whole cucumber as it's not exactly filling.

 

tickleme - I think the diet is just messing you up a little but you should get used to it. I was almost the other way and had to cut back a little on the fiber. So maybe bump up your strawberries and green beans and that might help. In 2ww I'm less strict but avoid major no no's as I really think my body goes a bit wacko with IG diet, weak and anemic feeling. I've barely had any red meat in months so if I do get pg I'm going to have to take serious iron and red meat as I'm always anemic when preggo. I don't think you've missed your O, but with the diet it can make it a bit later etc, esp if you have lost weight.

Saoirse - well if it cheers you up, I have got medical insurance which DH's company pays a fortune for(and hate it) but I still end up with a massive bill, only a 20 week ultrasound and end up with bills left right and center up to 6 months after baby is born. For example the last fella cost us about $4,000 in various bills. $900 was for a $1,000 ultrasound - they got me somehow on a deductible. It's all jibber jabber to me, all rules about rules. However there are ultrasound private places here all over the place where you can get a us for about $80 in 3D. A lot of people use it to confirm gender although you have to do the 20 week for medical reasons, check for health etc. I'm suprised there's nowhere in Ireland like that yet?

 

Girlies that's really interesting about the yogurt. I might give that a whirl as I would only like to do lime(picked some up today!) before BD. Can't find the replens local for love or money.

Beazly -Saoirse was talking about the limes in the plastic bottle shaped like a lime that is in the fruit section. I also have a bottle of that just in case my limes go bad etc.

 

Oh the soda thing I was saying earlier, I was thinking diet soda. Because aspartame has such a strong effect on me and I never ever eat/drink it, I know a lot of girl mommies who are die hard diet coke fans. Some of the swaying things I think you just need to judge for yourself. I noticed a lot of successful sways allowed one cup of coffee a day. The coffee is not "allowed" because it can make the boy spermies go quicker right? So I wonder why it's not allowed for women. I believe it's acidic too? Just something I saw when going through the stats that at lease some had coffee, limited I'm sure.

Muffin -not sure how long you should wait, hoping others could chime in. How's you ph? I'm thinking wasn't your DH sick month before last too on antibiotics? Hoping things work out for you this months

Yep Tutu dh has been sick lately then he had a very big boil on his back and needed treatment and antibiotics for it. In november i had BV so we both needed treatment for it as well, i have been postponing this TTC girl so cant really stick to strict diet for months for nothing!!

Reg the lime douche once Tamara recommended the fresh lime instead of store bought i guess its better, but if stuck at home then give it a go!

OPK thing -  when doing a cut off do you stop BD at first Positive OPK? I was hoping to start with a 3day cut off first, but dont know how to pinpoint it since i have irregular cycles.

If you cutoff at first positive test it is possible that you will ovulate within the next 12hours, so that wont be very good for your three day cut off. have you tried any supplements to help make your periods regular? I think Vit B's are ment to help, maybe talk to a pharmicist about it.

 Oh i got another faint line just 1 hour ago.... the previous line i saw on sunday. I know it doesn't mean positive, but fingers crossed it's developing into that lovely surge. I told hubby that i haven't ovulated yet, and he groaned and said, so you aren't finished with me yet.... LOL... the poor bugger hates putting out atm!

The neg ion magnetic hematite bracelet I bought was in a little jewellery store at home !!! It actually said it on the box too. Came with a warning too not to wear when pregnant. So its back in its box at the moment till this lil one arrives !!! The North Pole magnetic bracelet I picked up from a web site called KIFLOW, the link to it is in the FAQ !!

If u find that the cranberry and PP tea are actually making your pH go up, then I'd trial a week without any of those and see if your pH stabilized . You also mentioned you were on Antibiotics, actually both yourself and DH were on antibiotics . It really depends on the pharmacutical makeup of the antibiotics, the dose, strength,concentration and duration of antibiotic therapy. Usually it would be anything from 10 to 14 days after last dose of your antibiotic to be fully out of your system, so if your due to O in the next two weeks, it may be a little too close to call, and antibiotics do sway boy, so I'd be inclined to tell you to keep your head down, concentrate on getting your pH nice and low and then go for your attempt next month. There would be nothing worse than going for it and regretting that you didnt wait an extra few weeks to attempt in the most optimum time. Does that make sense to you ??? The yogurt you'll need for any YI would be plain natural organic yogurt. Its very effective when used topically, ie, you'll need to insert it to counteract the YI and balance out the bacteria.

I'd try replens too to see what it does to your pH, I know of plnty girls on the forums that have gotten nasty YI from lime douching. Replens has a pH of 2.8. So really great if it works for you and can keep your pH low for up to 20 hours. Though,results can be very individual, alot of the TTC is trial and error !!

Carsonelle, thank you very much for your really sweet words !! Yaah if u O on sat, CD 14 !!!! Do your OPK's 3 times day, excluding your morning first pee, cause you'll always have LH in the morning !!! Best of Luck hun !!! Keep us posted  

Tickle, that OPK doesnt quiet look positive yet, though sure u know that the test line has to be same colour or darker than the control line, though if your still having EWCM then you are probably still approaching O, and hopefully it will be sooner rather than later for u and DH !!!! Poor mite, they probably feel like a male version of a call girl !!!! totally used !!!!!

To answer your Q !!! I did cut off for the last 2 attempts, as the 4 previous O + 12 's did not result in a BFP !! So I adde cut off to maximise our chances! Your right too, this is the first month I did lime 2 hours before attempts and the first time I did replens after the attempts, I felt that the lime was killing everything after the attempts. I used replens throughout the day too. Replens has a Ph OF 2.8, so very similar to the lime douche. I got my positive OPK Christmas Day at 10 am. DH wasnt able to do attempt then , he released in the afternoon, we had family around and just coulnt dissapear for an hour ( ok, 15 mins But it would have been impossible to do lime douche, showers in the afternoon with family in your front sitting room !!!! So we BD that night at 22:30. I suppose though , it would be the most ideal if you attempted cut off at your first positive OPK as you could in theory O the next day, I just knew by my OPK patterns that I would have till the Monday night for my O + 12, think I O'd around 06:30 / 0:6:50 Monday Morning ,but it might be best practice to do your cut off at the first positive OPK you get !!! Make sense !!!

Thanks Saoirse- I knew it wasn'ta positive, but there had been other girls saying their test line slowly becomes darker.... and was curious if that faint line was just the baselin LH that's in your body all the time. does that make sense? I certainly hope it's gonna happen by tomorrow!

My friends don't know we are trying and i don't want to be doing ovulation tests while i'm away. lol. All they know is that I want one, they think I'm waiting till the middle of this year. lol

Beasley, God, sorry I didnt tell you Tesco was a supermarket !! I think you should find the lime juice in the bakery section in any large supermarket, wallmart etc, Think Tutu may be more help to you there !! You can use the fresh lime too and juice them. but be super careful not to get any pulp in the douche, that would irritate the VJ off u and u could bleed .

Speaking of Tutu, The Irish healthcare system...... well it can have alot to be desired too !!! I have private health insurance, though if u want to go semi private or private here you have to pay a booking fee of several thousand Euro, can depend on the hospital too , but I think we'll get the exact same care and treatment in the public sector without the additional costs. I dont ever tell anyone my job as would be mortified they'd give me special treatment,or think I'd want specail treatment !! Just that the appointents can take hours versus the private sector, where your given  2 pm appointment ans you get seen at 2pm and home by 3pm !!! Theres also alot less scans. If u were to go to privat scan clinic you could pay anything from E 100 to 400, though DH wants to wait till our annomily scan to find out, thats at 24 weeks !!! I'm not sure if I'll last though !!!! Really hope you O soon too !!!!!

 Its alwys a waiting game !!!  We're waiting to O, then in 2WW, then waiting for a BFP , then waiting for a gender scan, then waiting for the birth , then waiting for them to go to school, colege, out of our houses !!!!  ( only joking bout them growing up, would love to have them small for ages longer !!!! )
