I somewhat followed the IG girl diet, timed true o+12, tried to consider all those ion things mentioned on IG. I was also breastfeeding at the time (no cervical mucus), and was loosing weight while conceiving, partially due to IG diet.

I am expecting a baby girl. In my mind, the timing (true o+12) and the breastfeeding really helped, all in all my sway probably helped opting my chances 60/40. just my intuition obviously, who can tell?

I didnt have the choice to do MS as I dont live in the US and dh would never have considered it, he doesnt understand GD. I would definitely have gone for MS in fact, I would defo go for it for a 4th baby. Good luck with whatever you decide!

We had sex on ovulation day rear entry and had our DS.  With DD we had sex missionary every other day starting at the beg. of our fertile week. We stopped the day before ovulation. I also made sure not to get up until morning after he ejaculated. We are now expecting #3. We did it the same way as DD, so we shall see.

Hi there... we did a pretty intensive sway as well - diet, supplements, ph, moon phases, girl moon sign during ovulation, negative ions, 3 day cut-off, missionary shallow penetration, jump and dump, etc.... and got DS2! He's amazing and I'm so glad I have him, but I was so upset that my sway didn't work. I put so much time and effort and STRESS into it that I thought for SURE it would work! (stupid, I know). DS1 was inadvertently swaying for a boy, I think - BD on O day or night before, fair amount of salt in diet, boy moon phase and sign during ovulation, diet leaned more towards boy, although no red meat or potatoes. Either way, I am very skeptical about swaying. I really think it is all 50/50 at the end of the day. I have seen SOOO many sways that resulted in opposites. I think it's the luck of the draw. Sometimes I wonder if some people are just more predisposed to having one gender over the other, but then if you look at those who have more than three kids, they often end up having both genders. I just read about Chris O'Donnell (the actor) having five kids - a girl, then three boys in a row, then another girl. Just luck of the draw. I hope we all get our desired gender, but please don't put too much faith in swaying. It can be very hard to accept if it doesn't work....

I do not think that "Swaying" had any effect on gender at all. I have three girls, and for the fourth, did everything possible to "sway" for a boy, and we ended up pregnant with a baby girl. (Unfortunately, we lost the baby, but next time around, as long as he/she is healthy, I couldn't care less about gender, to be honest.) I also have a cousin who had three girls and then a boy and she did nothing different at all. I see a relatively famous fertility doctor, and we have discussed swaying. (He knows of this site b/c he is mentioned on here from time to time.) He says "swaying" has absolutely no effect on gender whatsoeverand it's a 50/50 shot each time you're pregnant. The only way to determine gender is to do IVF. Plus, it is actually dangerous do many of the swaying things, such as putting vinegar up your vagina and knowingly ingesting aspartame, which causes cancer. I don't mean to sound negative, but I would say don't waste the time, money and energy on something that has no effect anyway. Good luck in whatever you decide!

I agree with Venus - I too did nothing different and wound up with opposite sex.  We get what we get, no matter which diet you're on!  There was a lady on another board who considered herself the 'swaying guru' and she had about six girls.  She was giving out advice to all these gals as if it really worked, I think she believed it was really effective. Well she got pregnant again, and was really hoping for a boy and swayed hard - guess what she had?  Another girl.  She blamed it on her husband's alcohol intake.

Don't really think it matters what you do, one determined spermie is going to navigate through the big maze, and that's what we get.

Well, I didnt really use any method. The only thing different that I was doing was that I was on a health kick. I was eating healthy, drinking green tea, quit smoking, and was exercising. I dont really know if that had any influence in it or not but that is what was different at the time I concieved. I think I just got really lucky!!

I didn't TRY to have girls at all--had I known about swaying, I would have swayed boy with all my pregnancies! But I can tell you, both my girls were "oops" babies. They were both concieved in July, when it was hot; my husband--ahem--"enjoys" himself a lot (at least once a day), if you know what I meanHappy Wink ; and he also enjoys "special cigarettes", which I heard can sway girl as well. While trying to get pregnant with our middle child (my son), he did not smoke, and saved himself for me, so there was no frequent release. As far as timing, with one girl there was a 4 day cut off (we were trying to avoid pregnancy, but I ovulated early) and with the other, it was right at or just before O day.

Good luck with whatever method you choose to try when you get ready TTC. I hope hi tech is an option for you!

I never swayed and ended up with three girls.  Had I known about swaying, I would have swayed for a boy last time.  However, I think I unknowingly swayed for girls because I was on a crash diet (South Beach) for about 10 days when I conceived my girls.  So many cycles TTC yet every time when I went on South Beach for just over a week, I conceived and had a girl.

Recently, I was talking to my friend, who has two girls, and she said both of her girls were also conceived when she was on the South Beach diet.

So, if I wanted another girl, I would definitely go on a crash diet again while TTC.

Hi there, I haven't had time to read all of the posts in this thread but I thought I would give you my experience in conceiving a girl.

At the time I was dieting and had cut sugar almost completely out of my diet, I don't know whether it's a coincidence or not but I found that my cm was drastically reduced which fits with ttc girls and this was and still is unusual for me. My dh had also been working in a hot climate, again condusive to conceiving girls. If you view my earlier posts I think that I listed other things which I believed helped at the time. Good luck and sorry this is so rushed.
