We are moving soon and considering down sizing the place we will rent so we pay the lowest possible rent ,so we can save for a house . If anybody did it how hard it was ,what are the pros and cons and was it worth it ?

Yup. But much worse.  We lived with DH's mom and step dad for a year to save to buy a house.  We had 400 sq ft and a bathroom and shared the kitchen.  Quite honestly, the small space wasn't that bad.  We put 80% of everything in storage.

We moved into our own house 6 month ago, and it makes this house so much better.

If it's just a smaller space, GO FOR IT.  So worth it for the end result... but if you have to stay with you in-laws, i don't konw, LOL.  Actually, mine weren't that bad.

Go for it!

Yep when we were saving for our first home we went into a really cheap rental , it wasn't much fun living there small space and the bathroom sucked our bed barely fit in our room  but it was worth it knowing that the money was going to something more important and solid and that it was just temporary at the same time though you want to make sure your not miserable its kinda like a diet i guess if you go in to hard and restrict all enjoyment your more likely to quit and fail ,,, we made sure that we still had our basic needs meet like air conditioning and heating and a decent kitchen and bathroom nothing fancy but livable iykwim

also being in a cheapie rental makes your house when you buy it feel like a mansion lol

We're considering this to an extent... more move into an area we wouldn't necessarily buy in so we can 1) get into a better district 2) have more space.  What I fear is that we tend to live off of what we had.  When our rent was $700 a month then we didn't save much more than when we bought our house and started paying $1100 a month.  Plus when you own then you get to deduct for taxes and get equity... decisions, decisions!
