luvmylittlemen I was told that even the perfume thing can set a baby on a strike and, since I too don't really wear any, I'm just going to avoid it all together.I have read that girls are much more finicky regarding strikes than boys...Lord I pray thats true. myecg I am sooo going to have to look that stuff up and make dh get some as that has definitely been a problem with both dds and I really don't want it to be a problem this time as well. Anything to make this time work without any complications I am so for it.

My night was late because I have been up working for hours on a master's presentation I have due. IT SUCKS!! Atm I am taking a couple minute break though. I am just glad I am about 2 slides from finishing it if I can just manage to nail down the exact bit of research I need. Aside from that I have had even more contractions and back pain today. And yes it constantly feels like I am being watched as if anyone, esp dh, is around I am given looks and incessantly asked if I am ok. Part of me wants to say, if I wasn't then you'd know. I did manage to get my bed sheets changed today and put up Christmas lights outside for the first time ever. They are sooo pretty...not much but at least a start. Dh finally caved as having a new house, nice neighborhood, and tons of neighbors who have lights up so he figured might as well. The girls loved them. I also finished wrapping all but 3 of the last Christmas gifts that have needed to get wrapped. Have been sitting at my laptop working on my presentation though for the past 5 hrs straight Doh!.

Hope everything is going well for everyone.

EDIT: 2 hrs later I've finished my presentation!!!

Hubby made it back and I said first order of business is to DTD lol!! I have been having mild contractions about every 3 to 4 minutes, I say bring on the pain!! I have also been doing nipple stimulation and drinking raspberry leaf tea to help with the birthing process. Any one else trying some natural methods?

I have been taking the raspberry tea leaf pills now for about 3 weeks.  I have also been trying the nipple stimulation for the past couple of days when I can.  I keep having contractions off and on, when they show up they are from 5-8 min apart, but then they go away for a while, so I'm not sure how well the stimulation is working.  They are coming with more pain in my back and I'm also having waves of pain in my back.  My MIL is down here in case I do go into labor so she can watch our boys for us.  Hubby called her beacause some of my contractions were pretty bad yesterday morning, but again they went away.  I'm going to go in and get checked by the doc today because I have been leaking some kind of fluid, even after empting my bladder.  I worry about it because I tested postive for group B strep, so I want to make sure I can get the meds in that I need.  Good luck everyone.

My update for the day: while I knew full well what I needed to get done...nesting distracted me. I have over 600 pages to read by a week from today and had told dh that every free moment that he was home I needed to be reading. Then the crib got delivered. So did I actually sit and read like I desperately need to...absolutely not. I put the crib together and then got it made with the bedding set my mom got for the little man. While I love my dh, he is not even remotely mechanically inclined, unlike my FIL, so in order to know it was going to get put together and done correctly then I had to do it myself. But now its done and at least one part of his room is together. I about cried today though when the store called me to tell me the crib was in but told me that both of the owners who had told me the changing table/dresser combo was in stock at their warehouse and would be delivered with the crib were wrong. And not just a little wrong but the combo won't even be back in their warehouse until January 3 and they wouldn't have it in with shipment until mid-January. That means I have no dresser or changing table for this guy for what could very well be a month or more. I literally sat and looked at all of his folded clothes and everything that is supposed to go into the combo that is currently sitting in organized little stacks on the floor. Seriously wanted to cry.

On the positive side of things, I was the first to submit my presentation and after someone else submitted their's a few hours later and I was able to review it, I feel sooo much more confident that mine is exactly what the instructor was requesting (my peer's did not answer nearly any of the required questions and literally was half pictures with no explanation). My presentation is on HPV-based cervical cancer so if any one would like to see it let me know and I can post it. Happy Wink Now that I have taken substantially more of a break than I had intended, I have to get back to my reading. Hope everyone else is doing as well as can be expected!

Yesterday hubby and I spent most of the day at the doctors office and the hospital.  I went in to get the fluid checked and the doctor checked it under the microscope and on the paper and both were negitive.  She said she could see some kind of fluid built up in that area though, we are just not sure what it is.  She did a check and said I was a good one centimeter dialate, and 30% effaced.  She sent us over to the hospital to do a NST because the baby was a little less active the night before.  The babies heart rate did great and they saw the ups and down like they needed.  I also was contracting every 7 minutes, acutually did all day long.  They also did a more accurate test for amniotic fluid and that one came up negative also, but they saw the puddling also.  So on to an ultrasound we went to make sure baby had enough fluid in there.  Well the tech said that baby is well into my plevis and she is sunny side up, which would explain all my back pain that comes in waves.  So now I'm spending time on my hands and knees trying to get her to flip over.   The ultrasound showed that even though there isn't much, there is enough fluid for this stage.  Baby is weighing 7lbs 15 oz according to the ultrasound, 11 days ago she was at 6lbs 9oz.  I know ultrasound weight can be off by a pound or so either way.  They never did another internal check to see dialation and efacement before I left.  We got sent home and told to come back when the contractions are 5 mins apart for an hour, but to also use my judgement and come back if I felt like I needed to.  They were really nice and we were able to get alot of questions about delivering there answered.  That is what has been going on here, I hope everyone is doing well and haning in there.

Hey luvmylittlemen -

Just a thought, with my first bub I had a very similar thing happen with the fluid, I was leaking little bits constantly all day. I was tested a dozen times but each came back negative for amniotic fluid - but turns out it WAS my waters, no one could explain why it didnt register on the tests. A midwife ended up asking if she could smell a used pad (gross I know) but as soon as she did she said "yeah thats your waters, I know that smell". Apparently it is "sweetish"...? Anyway labor started 13 hours after the fluid leak started. Dont know if yours is the same thing but Id be watching for more labor signs in the next little while and maybe try to avoid anything that might introduce infection? Im sure the Docs are on to it though. GL!!!

nb: I was also 2.5 weeks early and had been doing the nipple stimulation thing too........

Thanks for the info Blondies.  I still have the leak, whatever it is, but so far not a whole lot else changing.  I'm not doing anything that would introduce an infection, although hubby would love to try one way to move things along, I don't think I could handle it.  I had some more painful contractions last night, but was able to sleep a little.  I'm really hoping she makes her debut soon, having the contractions all the time is driving me nuts.  My good friend is here so we now have someone to watch the boys, so that is not a worry.  The house is kind of a mad house right now though, she has two girls so that puts our count of kids up to five with my three boys.  Everyone is waiting to make it six...  My husband will now get his December baby and will will have birthdays in this house every month from October thru Feb.  The only person that dosen't fall in line is hubby, his is in Aug.  He used to joke that we need to have one more in Sept.Doh!  but we are done with this one.  I have still been trying the nipple stimulation off and on to help move the contractions along, and they do get stronger, but sometimes they fade again.  Not to mention with so many people in the house it makes it kind of hard.

So my day so far has been pretty crappy. I woke up this morning still completely exhausted and with a major headache that I have not been able to get to go away. We got family pics done last night and when I looked at them this morning I noticed how much my face had started to swell in just the past wk. Plus my wrists are starting to swell like crazy causing stiffness and pain. Have been having all sorts of minor v-shock like twinges and when I went to the bathroom this morning I noticed watery discharge. And my exhaustion has gotten so bad that by 8:30 at night I'm ready to go to bed and aside from rolling and a potty break or 2 I can sleep til 8:30 in the morning and still have problems dozing off throughout the day. Called the ob's office and they scheduled me to come in. While waiting for the time I needed to leave for my appt, my youngest dd who is teething (all 4 canines at the same time) decided to refuse to nap and scream absolute bloody murder for an hour and a half straight with no breaks. Dh took me to the drs office, small traces of protein and blookd in my urine, waiting for blood results regarding a preeclamptic panel they decided to do, found I showed negative for leaking and presence of fluid, and frustratingly found out that my little man has decided to disengage from my pelvis and is now blottable. Also found out that because he disengaged with in this past wk I lost all pressure on my cervix and I am neither dilating or effacing just having a bunch of small pains for nothing. I had a strong feeling he had moved up though as my pubic bone in the past wk stopped feeling like it was going to break any minute, my hips stopped hurting as bad, and my BH have lightened up some and become less frequent. What the heck? He is supposed to go down/stay down, not be so far down for the past month then decide when I hit 34+wks to move back up. Crazy frustrated right now. Plus I have been so exhausted that I haven't been able to barely get any of the massive amount of reading done that I need to get done by 5 days from today for me to take my finals. So also feeling overwhelmed as I am not even remotely ready for my 2 finals and I really need to make sure I do well as my master's heavily relies upon my grades in these 2 courses.

Overall...really down day.  Sad

Fashionista, sorry you had such a bad day.  I know how frustrating it can be when you think thigs are moving along and then they stop.

I hit 39 weeks today, I acutally thought I wouldn't make it this far with this one.  I'm still having contractions on a regular basis, but nothing is really moving along with them, at least not that I can tell.  I'm starting to wonder if I will be stuck at this point, having contractions 7-9 min apart until the doctor is willing to induce me.  I told my hubby that this baby is scared to meet her brothers, and that is why she is hanging onStick out tongue  I hope you all are doing well, as well as can be anyway.
