Has anyone tried raspberry leaf tea for bringing on labour? Is it worth a shot?

It never worked for me - babies at 42 and 41 weeks, both induced, and I took the capsules for the entire last trimester. Going postdates just seems to be my body's favorite thing.

That said, I had quick, easy recoveries, which they say it helps with.

It can't hurt you, regardless, and it may help. Like everything else in pregnancy/birth, individual mileage varies.

You know I'm not sure Ive used it both times Ive taken tablets from 33 weeks on in my last two pregnancies i did have really good labours and a really quick recovery ,, my first labour was 4 hours in total from the time my waters broke to bub coming out and only 2 hours of that was contractions so i only had two hours of pain and recovered really quick ,,,, my next labour was longer 5 hours but less intense and i was really relaxed and able to chat the whole way through , and my son was out in 2 pushes he was out so quick the doctor literally had to catch him as she has just raced over to put her gloves on ,,,

i haven't started taking it this time but i think i might go get some just incase it was part of the reason i had good labours the thing is though i don't have a time that i didn't take it to compare it to so who knows either way it certainly didn't hurt me nad both boys were born at term 40 weeks and 3 days and 37 weeks 5 days

It's not really for inducing/bringing on labor.  It's more for making your uterus more effective during labor.

Yes this..

I started drinking a cup a day at like 32 weeks and slowly built up so by 38 weeks until i delivered I was drinking 4 cups a day. I say it did it's job. Although I did not go into labor till 41 weeks, she came in an hour and a half from first contraction to in my arms. Pretty sure it made my uterus Wicked strong. She would have come faster but her elbow was up over her head,

I will definitely be doing the same this time. I had a super fast recovery

Exactly. I started drinking a cup or two a day at 32 weeks with my last pregnancy, and increased to three or four by the time I gave birth. I had an easy, and what I consider to be an intense, but not painful, five hour labor. And absolutely no afterpains, which was great. I highly recommend it, and will definitely be drinking it again next time.

Wow that all seems really positive, since it's a natural thing I guess it can't do any harm so I'm going to give it a go! I'm a bit late to start really- 36 weeks today but still sounds like it's worth a go! Even if it doesnt being things on the quick labour / quick recovery sounds like a blessing. Thanks ladies

I started drinking lots of it at around 35 weeks with my last pg.  I went into labor 3 days before my due date.  I had a very quick and realitvely easy labor.  Start of painful contractions to birth was 1.5 hours.  The only downfall was it went so quick I didn't have time for an epidural.

I have to chime in here. Try it! I think it made my last labor much more tolerable. The contractions were intense but.......I only felt the peak of them. To me, they felt like 15 sec.at their worst- while the nurse said they were a min. to a min. and a half long. I started with cup a day ( 1 TBS. loose leaf tea) in a cup of water steeped about 10-20min. I am up to 2 cups now at 32 weeks and plan to have 4 cups a day by 40 weeks. I credit Missy with introducing it to me, now I recommend it to all my pregnant friends.

I used it with my last two labors from about 32 weeks onward.  I had quick and easy labors (one with an epideral and one without).  It didn't make me go into labor early, though.
